4.7 Magnitude Earthquake Central Oklahoma (Prague) 11/5/2011 02:13AM Local
I felt this last night (sort of) in Ponca City near the kansas border.
More like i heard it vibrating my kitchen cabinets... it was so weird. Whole house seemed to vibrate for just a few seconds, but my overhead kitchen cabinets were rattling for like 20 secs.
I thought at first it might have been an explosion or something near Conoco.
clearly this is the result of
a. Global Warming
b. Racism
c. Bush
It may not have been near the New Madrid fault, but given the range of eastern US quakes recently, I would not be surprised if something much more severe happens.
Am near Washington, DC. felt the 3.? near Gaithersburg not too long ago. Was lying in bed and felt it as a slight shudder. Then we had the recent 5.8 in Mineral, VA. Worst in region in over 100 years. Was sitting on the bed and the wall opposite started to shake, I looked up from my papers and it had stopped, but then in a few seconds started up again. I waited to hear an explosion, but when none came decided it was another much stronger earthquake. Friends in the city report minor chimney damage. One person reported seeing a whole row of rowhouses sway in a wave starting from closer to the Mineral end of the block down to the other end of the block. There was mild to moderate chimney damage in some of those houses.

We live in Lincoln Co, about 20 miles from the epicenter. The house shook for several seconds, and a small cabinet fell over.
(Prague)? what is the connection?
Prague is a small town in Oklahoma, which was founded by Czechs. There is a Kolache (Czech pastry) Festival there each May. The town is pronounced with a long a, though.

I grew up eating Van’s real smoked barbeque. I learned at an early age from one of the original owners that real barbque needed real wood/charcoal smoke/heat not gas or electric!
That reality is being passed on to my grand kids. My sons and I grill everything from domestic critters to wild game/fish, beef,lamb, chicken, turkey and most veggies and fruits, and even the bread. It seems like we can never buy enough okra, asparagus, minature eggplant, and fresh peaches as sides for main entrees when they are grilled and smoked.
Last night, I grilled fresh Ahi, corn, small potatoes and the garlic bread.
While eating the dinner, my wife and I discussed our 50 years of marriage and 50 years of charcoaling with real charcoal/wood. We had Hibachis, when we were first married and went to the covered charcoal grills when we bought our first house. I now use a big combo CharGrill with the smoker on the side. At one time, I owned several Webers, and we prefer the flavor from the CharGrill. We use the little smoker section to cook for us unless we are doing something big.
My younger son, who was a Chef for years, and I have used the CharGriller to feed 20 to 30 people.

At least ya won’t get people from California on this site, hoping for death and destruction from tornadoes/floods/earthquakes in Oklahoma. Most people here have a bit more class than that.
