OKC is a long way from the New Madrid fault. I live right on the Mississippi River, was awake and didn't feel a thing. I am less than 100 miles from the New Madrid fault. Was awake at 2:15 and didn't feel a thing. What is concerning is the movement around the New Madrid - it can either be releasing energy (which is good) or adding to the build up of pressure on the New Madrid - which could be a real bi$c). We've had a swarm nearby for the past year on a fault that, previously, no one knew existed.

Yep. Wife and I had dinner at the Norman Van’s just last week. I also know a pretty good BBQ place in Chickasha. Not Jake’s, but a small mom-and-pop place called Roy’s.

The last place that my husband was able to eat out before he died was Van’s in Norman. One of those great memories in life.

It was a joy to sit there in Van’s with my most beloved wife of 33 years getting BBQ sauce all over our fingers and faces. Like little kids!

A bit off the topic, but all you good folks in OKC and all of OK better have your eyes to the sky come Monday/Tuesday. Chance of some very nasty weather. Moving up from Red River Valley and then east...

Are you folks suggesting a connection between Mexican food and earthquakes?

Was sitting here thinking about Free Republic and how it has contributed to sanity in this nation. consider the TVs that are still functional not having been shot, the walls without holes punched in them, the many small children who have not yet learned profanities. This is all due to Jim and Free Republic lending us a megaphone to shout our frustrations at the world. So get off your wallets people, put your money where your mouth is and help us pay for that megaphone. our sanity depends on this.
