Yes I know proximity. Can’t help my dreams. Meers is one of the closer ones. Why can’t I dream about brad Pitt for the past half year rather than earthquakes

This quake was uniquely different from the recent moderate earthquakes throughout central Oklahoma. I was wide awake at the computer, and was immediately aware of much sharper shaking energy through the floor and walls, that sustained for most of 20+ seconds.

The shaking was sharp and sustained enough to wake my wife who began to call for me, and it continued long enough for me to get up, and walk to that bedroom and was still shaking while we discussed it and opened a closet door that is on the SE corner of the house that was still shaking.

Now that I think about it...it may have been closer to 30 seconds total time.

I'm glad your good in Detroit! If you had felt this we'd be in big trouble here.

A truck in the area crossed my mind for a nano-second, but the truck would have had to have been up against my house and repeatedly hitting it to make that kind of shake.

Go to the University of Memphis Earthquake Center site. It is very informative.

I know exactly where that is. I have family just east of there close to the former Love’s and Anderson truck stops that were destroyed by tornadoes last year.

There was a 1.404% chance that Prague would have a quake of this magnitude.

A little tremor and we’re all freaking out in Oklahoma, yet a tornado rip by and ho hum. Whereas go to California and it would be the opposite.

All depends on where you live and what you get used to.

Exactly!

This was a shallow quake, so was probably felt more than others of this magnitude.

“OKC is a long way from the New Madrid fault. I live right on the Mississippi River, was awake and didn’t feel a thing.

I lived in the L.A. area for 26 years, 4.7 wakes rarely produce damage. Most people in Oklahoma would just think it was the wind.”

4.7 earthquakes are so rare here that we consider them a Sign of the Apocalypse.

I live in Norman but must’ve slept through it. My own snoring shakes me sufficiently, I guess.

I live just north of Noble and didn’t feel a thing. The Oklahoma Geological Survey just said that it was the second largest earthquake ever recorded in Oklahoma.
