(CNSNews.com) –House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said she and other members of Congress are “praying” for the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reducation--the so-called super committee--that is trying to reach an agreement by Nov. 23 to reduce the federal deficit by at least $1.5 trillion over the next 10 years.
At a press briefing on Thursday, Pelosi said, “We just have to encourage them, not snipe, not--trying to keep rhetoric down about what’s, what, you know, ‘why aren’t they doing this or that?’”
“The fact is they have this responsibility,” Pelosi said. “We respect the charge that they have, Democrats, Republicans, House and Senate, we wish them well and we’re even praying for them.”
Pelosi went on to say she was “encouraged” by a letter sent yesterday to the committee, signed by 40 House Republicans, that did not rule out tax increases. “To succeed, all options for mandatory and discretionary spending and revenues must be on the table.” reid
“I have not put any lines in the sand,” Pelosi said. “If it is big, bold and balanced, many things are possible.”

THis “super” committee should be abolished. It’s a lose/lose for America. They’ll either raise taxes (Hurt the economy at a lousy time)or cut military (put our security at risk at a lousy time). This is an attack on the TEA party Congress members. NO outcome will help the conservatives, and will merely be used as campaign fodder against our side.
There will be no agreement to cut any 1/5 Trillion dollars even over ten years. Dems have dug in their heels, tax increases or else.

She wants to appear as though she wants a supercommittee deal, however she wants it to fail, so she and Mister Obama (IIRC) can eviscerate national defense, and blame Republicans while doing so.

I have always prayed that the good Catholic that Pelosi is does not linger and suffer when she dies ... tomorrow!

That is an average deficit reduction of 150 billion dollars per year. And what is the projected increase in the deficit over those same years?
Well, this year the deficit topped 1 trillion dollars in June. That was 3/4ths the way through the year. That would indicate a deficit of 1.3 to 1.4 trillion this year alone. If spending rates don't increase (fat chance charlie) we could expect the deficit to increase 13 to 14 trillion dollars while we “save 1.5 trillion”.

I don’t advocate violence against people—even political enemies. But this gal needs to view the videos on the internet, of Clarq Petacci. Pelosi is repeating history, not learning from it.
What kind of bipolar government has one branch “reducing” and the prez insisting on spending. Why can’t even the simplest mind see this insanity? Also.. You know it’s bad when liberals are gettin religion. Is there a name for pre- election revival syndrome? I cant think of anything except lying fraud.
Strange isn’t it. During the reign of the USSR, they had 5 and 10 year programs, which didn’t work. The best this government can do is 12-18 month plans because of the election cycles. Since when did DC keep ANY 4-8-10 year budget plan???? Doesn’t matter who is in power, which party, the government always grows. I am really gettin tired of this crap. We can’t get an agreement to cut a lousy 1.5T over a 10 year time period when the government will receive over 20T and still be in debt. Folks we are being played...AGAIN!
