Free Republic founder Jim Robinson has a message for supporters of Mitt Romney: go away.
In an email to POLITICO this afternoon, Robinson admitted that the site routinely blocks Romney supporters from posting -- and offered no apologies for the practice:
Free Republic is a pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-small government, pro-constitution, pro-liberty site. Governor Romney is none of the above. His record is that of an abortionist, gay rights pushing, gun grabbing, global warming advocating, big government, mandate loving, constitution trampling, flip-flopping liberal progressive with no core values. That and the fact that he is the chief architect and advocate for ObamaCare disqualifies him for any consideration whatsoever on Free Republic as a potential nominee for the presidency.

Herman Cain makes a great replacement for Sarah Palin. What is the general opinion on Newt Gingrich (sins and all) as his Chief of Staff or something like that to help guide things through the Houses? He carries a ton of baggage but also carries lots of worthwhile knowledge and experience. And a good brain.
And Sarah Palin as Secretary of the Interior or State Dept. as part of any cabinet?
OK, OK, Will send Free Republic more money. Jim, you are so fine.
Sadly, Hume seems to be following right along.
Thank you very much, Marcella!
I wonder how many celebrating Mitt supports being banned were screaming when Hank Jr got wasted by ESPN or when the DU was employing same practice....Its only wrong when the other guy does it I guess...but hey his website so he is entitled
Ya Reagan wasnt a RINO...ya
Of course when the same members of same website were crying and screaming when websites on other side did same thing..its a lil funny to say the least
Amen! Something is going give, we will need solid leaders not rinos.
The GOP has a habit of nominating unelectable people, we’re told to get behind them, we do and then they lose!
And why are conservatives always blamed for the RINOs failure to win? If they want our support they should earn it. No more free pass!
Nothing I’ve seen indicates Slick Willard is more than just an opportunist who tells people what they want to hear. Granted, some of his positions had something to do with the particularities of Massachusetts but that wouldn’t bother most people. That comes with the territory.
What bothers people is he comes on the national stage and has shown no signs that he learned anything from his MA tenure. Its like he takes people’s support for granted. He reminds me of a used car salesman.
And the one comparison a politician should dread is being compared to a used car salesman. Actually, I don’t want to insult used car salesmen. Most of them are honorable. Willard just comes across as being slick. He can have the Establishment’s support all he wants.
But he and his supporters shouldn’t blame conservatives if they don’t feel like showing up at the coronation. If there is one. And we don’t have a king in America - never had and never will!
If Romney actually earned conservatives support that would be different.
But I don’t see for the life of me why its an entitlement.
What I resent most is hearing the media and the GOP establishment declare him the GOP nominee before a single party caucus has been held and there is a single primary.
Conservatives shouldn’t told for whom to vote. Slick Willard and his supporters can’t say, support me, I am a guy of principle and I will defend your interests.
If Jim Rob lifted the ban on Mitt Romney supporters, would they join us? I doubt it. And then there is the direction of his campaign. Nothing grass-roots about it.
Again, no coronation, please!
There are good Mormons - and they have solid family values, a hard work ethic and patriotic Americans. I’m just not sure Romney is the best representative LDS adherents have. Most of them being God-fearing and conservative people. I have nothing against Mormons. I admire them and Utah. I just don’t admire Mitt Romney.
We have supported RINOs. But they turn out to be liberal. Remember Arnold Schwarzennegger? He and Mitt Romney are cut from the same cloth. He’s not going to be a conservative President. Red Arnold in seven years as California Governor, was a disappointment and basically handed the state over to Jerry Brown. Let’s not find out who Romney will turn America over to after a single term in office.
Ron Paul is too libertarian for my tastes. I’m a conservative and I would never vote for him.
I bet if that happens and we do vote for him, guess what?
The RINOs will blame conservatives for another election loss! I’m all for working together but I do get tired of hearing them say its because we did something to turn the middle off. You never hear them turn on the Left.
Anyway, like I said, let’s not hear about a coronation. We shouldn’t encourage that expectation.
Is that okay by you?
Depends on what the definition of "support" is.
If it means banning those who do support those issues and not even debating them, then I'm not so sure.
But then again, in almost ALL cases, when a Conservative tries to debate those issues with a progressive, as they are unable to debate the substance of those issues and usually resort to name calling, maybe banning is the way to go! :-)
And...? /S
The RNC passes out letter Rs like candy on Halloween.
While not an atheist, I somewhat agree.
