However, if the election is Romney vs. Obama, I won’t be voting for Obama.

I will be.

______________________________________________

Sooooo, let me get this straight, FR is now ok with people being supporters of Obama and saying they will vote for him.... the Marxist, closet homo, closet Muslim, anti-capitalist, creator of deathcare....I don't like Romney, never have, never will and I WELCOME anyone to go back over all of my posts on FR and show me ONE SINGLE TIME where I have ever supported Romney. However, I will NEVER support the Kenyan Marxist, NEVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!! I would never vote for him... NEVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! and I think Jim R has made it pretty damn clear about what he thinks of the Kenyan Commie so if you are an Obama voter, I think you are on the wrong forum unless overnight FR became a pro-Obama site and if that happens I am so out of here. How dare you say you will help re-elect that sorry POS!!!! You don't have to vote for Obongo if Romney is the nominee. How could any conservative EVERRRRRRRRRR vote for him? You are the progressive whackos dream and people like you will get him 4 more years and we won't have a country left. You make me sick.

It’s not anti-Mormom, it’s anti-Romney, those are not the same thing. Romney is Obongo lite.

Politico can go pound sand. It is one of their reporters that dredged up the slime attack on Cain. Romney people can go play elsewhere.

The “lady” from Politico on the radio this morning talking about the Cain allegations sounded just like a whiny feminist.

56 posted on Monday, October 31, 2011 10:33:07 PM by Lancey Howard: Below are a couple of columns from 10 and 12 years ago about the Boy Scouts being turned away by Mitt Romney and the Olympics Committee for volunteer work on the Salt Lake Olympics. The Boy Scouts had been very active and high profile at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and were looking forward to participating once again. But the Boy Scouts had just won an important Supreme Court case (in June 2000 the Supreme Court ruled that the BSA was a private organization that could choose whoever they wanted as scout leaders and could therefore reject sodomites) and the Democrats/homos were still mighty ticked off about it. Massachusetts Mittens could always be counted on to pander to homo activists, of course, so he gladly came up with a lame lie of an excuse for turning the Boy Scouts away from the Salt Lake Olympics. The Boy Scouts’ disappointment was palpable, and Mitt Romney never returned their calls.”

Given the way the Mormons use the Boy Scouts as their de facto youth organization, this is shocking. I had no idea.

(Nothing against the Boy Scouts in this regard — they let churches sponsor Scout troops, and the Mormons have chosen to use the Boy Scouts rather than creating their own youth organizations. Since the Boy Scouts require belief in a god but are not specific in which god, there's nothing wrong with the Boy Scouts admitting Mormons, Jews, or any other faith group to membership.)

On this point, it would be expected that Mitt Romney would be very familiar with the Boy Scouts and their policies, and in a state like Utah with the Salt Lake City Olympics, I would think that being against the Boy Scouts would be roughly like being a Southern Baptist in Alabama and opposing church youth groups.

Somebody show me where I'm wrong, if I am.

Thank you again to Free Republic for finding things which the mainstream media should be finding, but isn't.

The GOP RINO wing of the party believes it can shove Romney down our throat because we have nowhere to "walk."

I'm really sick and tired of hearing this.

If committed conservatives really are a solid majority of the Republican electorate, there is no reason for Romney to be shoved anywhere except in the dumpster.

And if they are not a majority, then the task is to get every possible moderate Republican convinced not to vote for Romney.

I personally lean toward the latter of these two views.

I was faced with McCain, Romney and Huckabee as my only primary choices in May 2012 because lots and lots and lots of registered Republicans voted for them in the preceding primaries, not because conservatives were barred from the polls by some RINO equivalent of the Black Panther Party.

Whether or not Mormons attack your faith is obviously of great concern to you personally. You have every right to object when they do so, but it's not particularly relevant to the 2012 nominee selection process.

Any GOP nominee who denounced Mormonism as a cult or Satanic could kiss a couple of states goodbye. You may think that's worth it, I beg to differ. [NS, #252]

Hey, go after the Mormons all you want, don't hold back. Just try not to be offended when candidates who want Mormon votes decline to pile on. [NS, #257]

Well, to some degree this is an "academic" discussion:
The very faiths represented by Cain & Perry (Cain, Baptist; Perry attends an Evangelical church & I believe has a Methodist background) already regard Mormonism as a "cult."

What? Is that shocking news or something? Oh, sure, the individual churches (& its leaders) they attend may not have said anything. But Baptist & Evangelical statements galore have labeled Mormonism as a "cult."

In the same way, oh sure, Romney hasn't gone out of his way to either condemn Christians -- nor identify any Mormon teachings he would toss under the bus...yet that's just it: He hasn't tossed ANY under the bus...including the teaching that Christians are "apostate," 100% creedally abominable, etc.

Therefore, I see a form of "disrespect," here, NS. [I don't take it personally}...What I mean, here, is that you accord "respect" to Mormons. You allow them the right to be provoked by the label "cult" and you allow them the right to extend that provocation into the voting booth.

Frankly, I agree with you here. If Mormons want to be offended over a CANDIDATE who might in some future case call them a "cultist" then indeed Mormon voters have the right to be offended and to show that in the voting booth.

So the next Q then is: Why don't you and other FREEPERS show us as Christians that same "respect?" Why is our offense over a candidate who has said he embraces the "package deal" of Mormonism, which includes labeling all other churches as the "church of the devil" + labeling them corrupt-abominable apostates...why is that seemingly marginalized or unacknowledged by you?

Why are Mormons NOT expected to "compartmentalize" their religio-political perspectives, but Christians are?
Is it in part, because there are so many mealy-mouthed milquetoast Christians who don't care who counterfeits them and tramples their faith in the public square? (And therefore, we haven't "earned your respect?")

If that's the case, hey, I understand...and in this case, I won't consider you 2-faced about this. I'll actually consider you rather astute.

But, if you do say you respect us and honor our right to be similarly offended over Mormon candidates who don't exactly "inspire" us because we are deemed apostates by Mormon bishops and ex-bishops everywhere...

...then why can't our public convictions be honored in the public square?

Why are they dissed and dismissed?

What I REALLY resent is the liberal buttwipes that infiltrated into the GOP who are working 24/7 to make Romney our ONLY possible choice.

They’re the enemy every bit as much as the dems are.

We need faces on them, and names, so they can be removed from positions of influence and power.

On local talk radio a few mornings ago, the host had on a GOP strategist and a Dem strategist, and BOTH of them made the statement “well, you know, Romney is the presumptive nominee”

“Presumptive nominee”???? Like the REST OF US have no say in the matter??? So both the dem and the gop guy are saying it as if it’s a done deal..

The gall of these arrogant pr*cks astounds me...

I’ll write in Herman Cain, no matter what.

No more RINOs. Ever.

You are lacking a basic comprehension issue here. Perhaps a word picture will do.

Imagine you have a candidate who has...
...never uttered a public racist statement (or perceived action) in his life.

But then a black voter finds out that 10% of his multi-millionaire income goes toward an organization that says blacks...
...aren't true citizens,
...that they "corrupt" en masse,
...that the churches they belong to are "of the devil," etc.

You seem to be "stuck" on "attack" coming in the form of only "incidents" and "statements."

How pathetically naive.

I'm telling you Mitt Romney's wallet has gone toward the worldwide libeling and slandering of the Christian faith! And in this sense, why would you expect less of a reaction from Christians than you would blacks in the above scenario?

What? Would let the bankrollers of racism off the hook merely if they never said anything controversial?

Neither will I. End of story. There is no way in hell that I would ever vote for him and there is no way I will sit home which is the same as voting for him. I will NEVRE vote for Romney in the primary! NEVER. But I won’t sit home. The sitters that couldn’t vote for McCain gave us Odumbo and we see how well that worked out. Take the Senate, keep the house and kick the Kenyan back to Kenya where he belongs.

"Poor Mittens. :("

"Finally something you cannot buy."

He couldn't buy it the last time after putting out millions of his own money either and he only had McCain to beat. That is why it puzzles me that he decided to run again.

______________________________________________

I guess you meant May 2008

So let me guess again

instead of choosing pro-life McCain or pro-life Huckabee

You chose pro-abortion Romney ???

That is definitely NOT a Conservative move...

and all your whining...

if it was so terrible in 2008 why is there any quandry now ???

Dont chose the liberal Romney again this time, little Grasshopper...

he wont be the only one on your ballot...

As for me when voting starts on Feb 15 in TN, I’ll be there at 9AM at the top of the line again like last time...

I voted for Duncan Hunter in the primary 2008...

In Feb 2012 I’ll vote for Herman Cain..

IF and I think that will be a very strong IF Herman Cain does not get the nomination it will depend on who gets the GOP nod...

In Nov I MIGHT vote for Perry if its him, Santorum or Bachman..

If I have to hold my nose I wont...

otherwise I will write in Cain or Palin...
