Cain edges Perry in new Texas poll
American Thinker ^ | 10/31/11 | Rick Moran

Herman Cain's support appears to be broad and deep, even in Rick Perry's home turf of Texas.

A new University of Texas/Texas Tribune poll show a statistical tie at the top between Cain and Perry, with Texan Ron Paul running 3rd:

Cain got 27 percent to Perry's 26 percent among Texas registered voters who identify themselves as Republicans. U.S. Rep. Ron Paul was next with 12 percent, followed by former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney at 9 percent and former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich at 8 percent. The other Republican primary candidates - Michele Bachmann, Jon Huntsman, Gary Johnson and Rick Santorum - each got 2 percent or less; 11 percent of the respondents answered "don't know," and another 1 percent said they would prefer "another Republican candidate."

That is a very good analysis of the situation.

Right here on FR, most of the ardent supporters of Sarah Palin have realized that, as she has firmly stated, she is NOT running, that the best thing to do for America would be to transfer their support to the most viable Conservative Candidate. Although Bachmann and Santorum espouse many of the same beliefs as Palin, they have done so poorly in the polls that it would not make sense to transfer support to them. The wisest decision is to get on the Cain Train as it rumbles past Romney and Bulldozes Bammy.

To 6 - You’re correct but don’t expect many Cain supporters to reply to you with any hint of rationality. They’re too lost in a delusion now in hoping they’ll get to see Mexicans, (men, women and children) electrocuted or shot.

For those interested in facts rather then Perrybot wishful thinking, here is a link to the current polling averages.

Huh, you bet. /rolleyes

America is sure to vote for a guy who paid women off to be silent about his unwanted sexual advances.

The Cain sexual harassment scandal is going to be a real problem for him. This isn't some Anita Hill/Clarence Thomas trumped up scandal, he paid these women off to silence them . . . including a confidentiality agreement to keep them from ever disclosing what happened.

Every time I start thinking, "Oh well, he isn't that bad and he's a true conservative," something else comes up even worse than before.

Wow! When you make a statement like that, I would hardly find you to be rational.

I support Herman Cain, but that doesn't mean I wish for people to die. That's crazy talk.

I want to go on record as saying I will heartily endorse either Cain or Perry.

I want to go on record as saying I will NEVER EVER EVER endorse Perry or vote for the dud. I don’t vote for Liberals. (Wow Fishtalk this could be the first time I EVER disagreed with you).

What this poll shows me is what every recent poll shows me. Not only are people undecided but Cain has leveled off or even dropped.

What remains to be seen at this point is who voters will break for as the more minor candidates start to drop out of the primary race. That will be interesting to see. I don't get very excited this early in the process over polling. And of course the polling in Texas doesn't much resemble the national ones.

Obviously you do not like Perry.

I respect that.

I shall, however, always dislike Obamer more than any of the current contenders.

I know the Blue Blood elites always count on that but this time it’s really true.

This Texan will be voting for Mr Cain...

At this point in time I must agree with your comment. However I reserve the right to change my mind on Primary day.

I can’t stand and don’t respect Obama at all. I really won’t vote for Romney in a million years. With Perry you are going to have to drug me up and close my nose so hard the thing will fall off. lol. Hopefully we won’t have to worry about either one and Cain gets the nomination.
