House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. Darrell Issa and Sen. Chuck Grassley lambasted Attorney General Eric Holder in a new letter detailing how Holders team has failed to provide congressional investigators with critical details surrounding the connections between Operation Fast and Furious and a second federal agents murder.
The two top Republicans wrote to Holder on Tuesday criticizing what they said was the Department of Justices late and lacking response to Grassleys March 2011 request for details about the murder of Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer Jaime Zapata. Not only was the response more than six months late, it completely failed to answer the key questions, Issa and Grassley wrote.
Issa and Grassley then detail how the DOJs severely late response is still rife with inconsistencies. Zapata was murdered in Mexico on February 15, 2011. At least one firearm involved in Zapatas murder was traced back to Otilio Osorio, his brother, Ranferi Osorio, and their neighbor, Kelvin Morrison. The DOJ arrested the three, and in a March 1, 2011 press release announcing the arrest, revealed that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives had been investigating since early in November 2010.
Otilio Osorio made the weapons purchase, which included a gun linked to Zapatas murder, on October 10, 2010. On the same March 1, 2011 press release announcing the three mens arrests, the DOJ said it was unaware of the weapons purchase.
According to ATF documents, however, the agency had reason to believe as early as September 17, 2010, that Otilios brother and co-habitant Ranferi Osorio and their next-door neighbor Kelvin Morrison were straw purchasers, Issa and Grassley wrote. Yet the ATF apparently made no effort to contact Ranferi Osorio or Kelvin Morrison and inquire about how their weapons came to be trafficked to Mexico...

Janet Napolitano Still Giving Non-Answers on Operation Fast and Furious
- Katie Pavlich
Earlier today House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa grilled Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano on Capitol about Operation Fast and Furious. Not surprisingly, Napolitano still gave non-answers to specific questions asked by Issa about the lethal program, what she knew, when she knew it, if she was outraged about the program and more.

Issa and Grassley point out in the letter sent yesterday the connections between straw purchasers who were supposed to be monitored by ATF and Zapata’s death, showing if ATF has arrested and prosecuted these straw purchasers rather than allowing them to continually transfer heavy weapons to Mexican Cartel members, Zapata may still be alive.
Napolitano: I Was Never Briefed on Fast and Furious
http://www.mainjustice.com/2011/10/26/napolitano-i-was-never-briefed-on-fast-and-furious/
Napolitano said that she was never briefed about the failed Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives operation and added that she did not know why even though she acknowledged that Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were told by the ATF to allow guns to be trafficked into Mexico on two occasions in 2009.
ATF said that these are part of a larger investigation. Stand down, Napolitano said in response to questions from Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah).
Napolitano, a former U.S. Attorney, also said that she has never spoken to Attorney General Eric Holder about Fast and Furious.
The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Ping
Or what? That is a great question to be asked. It seems like and Issa and crew have only blanks in their weapons. This thing moves but toward what? Watergate moved toward a finish once the Republicans caved. The Democrats will lie and cover till hell freezes over. Democrats have no morality so there is no reason to cave.
Just saw Rep. Walsh on Fox calling for Holder to resign citing Terry’s and Zapata’s deaths.
Somebody ping me when the indictments are unsealed.
Dear Eric Holder,
I know that you are going through a high stress time in your life.
I know that you are feeling great emotional pain as the walls close in on you.
I know that you have moments of extreme anger, because you know you have been caught and that your days are numbered. I know that you have at least considered that you might very well end up in prison. I know that you have even contemplated suicide as the pressure is unbearable.
I want you to take a few deep breaths and remember, it’s nothing personal, it’s the law, it all about seeking the truth and finding justice...... and one more thing Eric, it’s the White people that are doing this to you.
xxxooo
LMAO @ this corrupt and filthy racist bastard.
All the Republicans need to call for his resignation and BO’s too. Not just one or 2. Why do they always let the dems run right over them. Spineless wimps all of them. It should also be discussed in the Republican debates which have become a joke.
dandiegirl, dandiegirl, dandiegirl,
What is the number one rule of a politician?
Get re-elected.
Sooo, No one wants to really make big waves, just sort of go along, get along, and get re-elected.
Spineless wimps?
Not a set of balls amongst the lot.
This woman is a complete joke. The only thing she was briefed on is where the nearest donut shop was. She will be swept out with the rest of the obama appointed socialist trash in 2012. Then maybe off to jail if she is withholding information.
This has to be moved up to Boehner. There has to be some sort of a total House of Representatives motion or vote on this. If they are ignoring or stonewalling Issa there has to be a next step.
I am surprised that the checks and balances are so weak. Ozero can become a dictator with apparent ease.
It’s as though every single person in DC other than 0h0m0 and his peeps has been mesmerized by a mystic cobra or something. Practically. Issa and Grassley and Joe Walsh are exceptions.
