MOSCOW, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said Wednesday that he was disgusted by TV coverage of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's death.
"Nearly all Gaddafi's family was killed, his corpse was shown by all TV channels around the world. It was impossible to watch without disgust," Interfax news agency quoted Putin as saying.
Speaking at a meeting of the Russian Popular Front in Moscow, Putin also said that none of the world religions would allow TV channels to broadcast the killing of a bloodstained but yet alive man.
"There is nothing good that all these scenes were demonstrated on the screens and millions of people, including children, saw that," Putin stressed.
He added that the media must take moral responsibility for the broadcasting.
Gaddafi, who was in power for 42 years in Libya, and his son Mutassim were captured alive last Thursday when forces of Libya's National Transitional Council (NTC) wrested full control of his hometown of Sirte. But both of them died in murky circumstances shortly after being seized by NTC fighters.
Some of the Chekist Putin's innocent victims:
Lord help me, but I actually agree with Putin and his disgust.
I am still waiting to hear Putins condemnation of the 100 million that communists slaughtered.
... still waiting....
Seems like the ex-KGB chief protests too much.
As long as they aren't showing the atrocities on TV, it should be fine. lol.
It’s okay to show it a few times, but to replay it over and over again simply to attract viewers is in very poor taste, IMO.
“Putin voices disgust at TV broadcasting of Gaddafi’s death”
He SHOULD!
Would you have been disgusted if they had shown the dead body of bin Laden on the TV?
Yes I have noticed that the world’s current and future dictators have protested the loudest re: Gaddafi’s death at the hands of his own people...
Putin would like to shut them down like he shut down a Russian newspaper for printing the Danish Mohammed cartoons.
Not at all, I would have liked to see him dead though. The fact they stated “they took the time to bury him at sea in accordance to his traditions” raises a red flag for me.
We have NO proof it was bin laden thrown into the sea. Then our Navy Seals were murdered shortly after wards?
Doesn’t sit pretty with me.
“If it bleeds, it leads.”
Putin is a murderer himself. This humanitarian concern is nothing other than a “Potemkin Village”-like emotion conjured up by Vlad to influence the world’s media.
He’s right. Anyone should also be disgusted at Hillary laughing, joking, and cackling about it.
And no sane person should celebrate the replacement of Kaddaffi with an Al Qeida sharia regime.
Now Obama has created in effect, a swath of Al Qeida from Libya across to Israel.
Notice how with Iran and Syria,, we remain hands off no matter how brutal the repression is?
But the more secular governments of nations like egypt, libya, etc,, Obama moved against them.
And Georgia (created in a Soros financed “rose revolution”)attacked Russians in S. Ossetia. It had nothing to do with them siding with us. After 9/11 we got FREE unleased unrestricted use of Russian controlled, former soviet airbases north of Afghanistan. We rewarded them by supporting the Islamonuts in Chechnya, Kosovo, and backed up an unfounded Georgian claim to S. Ossetia.
Then we screeched when they evicted us from their bases. Amazing diconnect. In this case, Putin is correct.
Well you see, he’s just thinking that this could be his fate one day, although it seems Russia can’t get enough of dictators.
The biggest part of world media generally abuse their position and trust with the people in a manner that assists Putin in his policy and goals, so he has little interest in shutting them down.
Putin knows he may be seeing his own future. Pretty revolting to see Putin fans here on FR. I guess dictators just appeal to a certain type of person.
The only thing more disgusting than fans of the genocidal monster Putin are the repulsive fans of his good comrade the psychopathic islamofascist terrorist Kadaffy.
