Frank J. Fleming, clearly not Einstein. Frank, you can’t NOT have a top 1%.

Classic liberal ILlogic.

A) That entire article (including the poor writing skills) looks like it was written by a third grader.

B) Idiot author of this piece is also the author of an upcoming book “Obama: The Greatest President in the History of Everything”

Nuff said.

It’s easy to see how the wealthiest 1 percent are devastating our country. Let’s say you took part in a raffle and won a prize of $500. Happy at your good fortune, you’d start thinking of all the neat things you could buy with $500.

But say the person next to you won $1 million. Then, suddenly, your $500 would seem like nothing in comparison, and all your ideas of what to do with that $500 would seem pathetic compared to what you could do if only you had the other person’s $1 million.

Ummm.... if you entered the wrong raffle, then it’s YOUR fault! If you didn’t get the First prize, be happy with what you won. Is this really how they think????

Where have all the rich folk?
Long time passing
Where have all the rich folk?
Long time ago
Where have all the rich folk?
Gone to Galt’s Gulch every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

“...99 percent, who suffer from the 1 percent’s vast wealth...”

‘suffer’?? Really????

It must be absolute he(* on earth receiving student loans (recipients have NO intention of repaying), credit cards (used with equal disregard for repayment), the perpetual, unconditional and fawning indulgence of parents, the government, teachers, banks....etc.

Yea... that has to be h%$#!!!!

After we’ve taken care of their wealth, to keep the nation happy and prosperous we should pass a law making it illegal for there to be a wealthiest 1 percent -- this country should just be the normal 99 percent...Sure, that isn’t mathematically possible, but government shouldn’t be about what’s possible; it should be about what’s fair.

LOL! Excellent article!

When I see all these privileged little twits waving their I-Phones around complaining because they're not as rich as Steve Jobs, I want to smack them upside the head.

I read this today and wasn't sure if it was real or satire. Re-reading it, I think the guy is serious. He is coming out with a book entitled “Obama, the Greatest President in the History of Everything”. Must be satire, right?

What happens when you outlaw the top 1% as he suggests? Why, the next top 1% (previously the 99% group), becomes the top 1%. Let's outlaw the too. And so on...

What nonsense. How does the Post print this Socialist dribble. We are the land of opportunity. The rich employ the rest. Get over it. Don't take the job and hang out in parks all winter.

If anything, get those that get rich off the government and us taxpayers off the dole. Oh, and outlaw unions while you're at it. At least the fat cats that run the unions - they are easily part of that 1% this guy hates.

If we woke up tomorrow morning, all wealth was wiped out, and EVERYONE started from zero, within a year NEARLY all(except for Paris Hilton and the Kennedy’s) the same rich folks would probably be wealthy again while the same people complaining about wealth fairness would be STILL complaining.

JMO...

When one person takes the property of another, that’s tyranny, but when lots of people get together and do it, that’s democracy. So we should legislate that the 1 percent no longer get to keep that vast wealth and must instead distribute it among the rest of us. (I should get the largest portion because it was my idea.)

RE :” See, the wealthiest 1 percent prevent us from getting ahead because any time we improve our incomes, we spend more on businesses and services, and guess who that helps? The 1 percent. Getting ahead just isn’t worth the knowledge that the rich are getting richer.
There’s no point in working hard to try to become one of the 1 percent ourselves, because what’s the chance of that happening? One in 100? Who would play a lottery with odds that bad?
No, instead of working hard, the 99 percent can only sit and protest on Wall Street until the wealthiest 1 percent are torn down.
Here’s the thing: They’re the 1 percent, but we’re the 99 percent. Their wealth may be much more than ours, but 99 is a much bigger number than one. So we should just gang up and take their money.
After we’ve taken care of their wealth, to keep the nation happy and prosperous we should pass a law making it illegal for there to be a wealthiest 1 percent — this country should just be the normal 99 percent.

I saw Micheal Moore on a few MSNBC shows last week who said exactly the above, no kidding. His exact words:"All money is ours owned by the 100% commonly and we the 99% should be deciding what to do with it."

Investor Jim Rogers did his part a few years back. He made his kids learn Mandarin (Chinese) and then moved with his family out of Manhattan to Singapore. All we need is more to follow. Unbelievably a few here cursed him for being unpatriotic for fleeing. But he made this country fairer by going. GO Jim!

not to sound harsh, but if all the money were taken from the one percent and divided equally amongst the 100 percent, in less than five eyars the one percent would have it all back again. With the possible exception of some of those who inherited it.

Frank, OWS thinks the 1% is really 50% of the population or so. They hate all those who work, invest, run companies and make money. They are the dead beats of society.

When so many folks are unable to identify satire, is it an indictment against those folks, an indictment against the times we live in, or a testament to the lterary ability of the author?

This is satire but usually there is a tip off somewhere in the piece. The author neglects this important feature making it difficult for us to recognize he is not just some idiot hippie.

He's mocking the left which is extremely effective. Satan and associates cannot withstand mockery. Their pumped up vanity makes them so thin skinned they pop. There is no more effective tactic. The reason leftists try to mock conservatives so much, to our puzzlement, is because they are showing us what they themselves fear the most. They try to mock the right at every opportunity because they find it so devastating personally. Nothing is worse to a leftist than having their vanity belittled in public.
