and yet the MSM keeps talking about a Romney victory. They 'misunderestimate' us just like 2010. Not this time either---lets roll on with the Cain Train to Freedom.

The one Perry is going to propose will be at 19%, that is what the so called supply siders are saying. I do not expect the liberals in congress to accept 19%, it will be at least 25% from the beginning. And it will do nothing to collect taxes from the 40% that pay none. Nor will it do anything to collect taxes from the almost $1 Trillion underground economy of Tax Cheats, Drug Dealers and other assorted Criminals.

So, I am back to having no real candidate again. I don't believe you have to feel that way.
Whatever kinks that there are in his tax proposals, it is wise to keep in mind that it is certain it will be run through the congressional pork grinder and probably not resemble its original form much at all.
In the end, the only way to keep taxes in line is to shrink the government and its spending. Reduce government and government power.
Mr. Cain sounds more in agreement with less government than the others. His overall value system seems more in tune with us than the others.
When I was in my mid 20s my father observed that if you are holding out for the perfect woman, plan on being single for the rest of your life.
No one arrives at the Oval Office completely prepared, trained and experienced. Our best Presidents have had the raw talents, but grew into the office.
IMO, at least at this point, Mr. Cain is a positive option, not the lesser of two evils as usually happens. We should hope that continues, because Mitt Romney is not an option. He may be prettier than the others, and does not appear to be a rabid America hater, but he is a died in the wool socialist elitist and will finish off this country.

Why did it take a full week to do this poll?
You know what I think? You need some perspective - this same outfits 2007 poll, done 10/17-10/24, in 2007 (another week?):
Mitt Romney 36.2%, Rudy Giuliani 13.1%, Mike Huckabee 12.8%, Fred Thompson 11.4%, John McCain 6.0%, Tom Tancredo 2.2%, Others 3.5%, Undecided 14.9%
Actual result:
Mike Huckabee 34.4%, Mitt Romney 25.2%, Fred Thompson 13.4%, John McCain 13.1%, Ron Paul 10%, Rudy Giuliani 3.5%, Duncan Hunter .4%
Good post. Another pointless poll. And even if Cain wins Iowa, ho hum. Romney is busy buying up all the votes and endorsements in the big delegate states.

The Kool-aid takes time to wear off I guess. But hopefully the GOP will sober up in time to take Obama on head-on.

“best chance to beat Obama.”
Um, Huntsman has no chance to beat anyone, at anything!, LOL!
Really, I have nothing against you in any way, but get real!
Huntsman has no chance at this nomination and should have gotten out of it a long time ago!
When he he *does* get out(a matter of time) consider who is the most conservative candidate likely to win.
To: NYCslicker
He’s as authentically conservative as any of them. If a candidate with a flawless platform has no chance to win it is squarely the fault of the electorate.
But thanks for not holding it against me ! :)
To: NYCslicker
And at least a candidate with the most room to grow isn’t losing his hype like Cain and Perry. Did I mention how great Jon is? lol
To: petercooper
999 wont go anywhere, but it does start the discussion about revising the tax code. And he is the only one with a set of cahones to take the issue head on.
As near as I can tell, he is the only one brave enough to propose anything.

When we trim the fedgov enough, we wont need any direct taxes at all. Yes, this is the ideal. I have the same passion as you about the evils of government taxation. I despise the parasites at all levels of government.
I have your fear of the parasite Congress taking Cain's 9-9-9 and screwing us. I did read up on Cain's plan and while I have fears, I do think it will help break the logjam of thinking and product dramatic reform.
Cain truly wants to get rid of the $400 billion plus compliance cost with the current system. I think of his plan as a start, not the end all.
I can't picture any other candidate that can move the ball forward on taxes.
Our Republic is in jeopardy and we must find a way to politically and financially destroy the parasite class that infests DC. I am thinking Cain has the best chance at this point.

No clue, but I like Newt baggage and all. Other presidents have been elected with more loaded bags than he has.

Mark my words, youll be making snowmen in hell, because not only is Cain going to beat Romney, its not even going to be close.I wish I could believe you because I would love to have Cain as our nominee. But our "open primary" states (like Arizona) are going to give us Romney, I'm afraid. And when all the SHTF after Romney refuses to withdraw Obamacare and the costs set in, everything will be blamed on the Republicans. They've set us up quite nicely and the RINOs are going to sink us.

Agreed. When the establishment put in McCain, I voted third party (as I said I would), and nobody else I knew did and they all completely hated my decision. If Romney is elected, I will again vote third party, but I am noticing something different this time around. I have heard from so many friends and family that they are considering the same thing I am: third party. The more they learn about Romney, the more they consider him the establishments Obamalite candidate.
It is not about the party anymore with them, it is about the Conservative/Libertarian movement. A president Romney will not be much different than a president Obama in their eyes. That bodes ill for the party if Romney does take the nomination. Of course, it will probably lead to a second term for Obama, but the establishment would be defeated in a rout. Long term, this would be good for the party as it would clear out some of those ruining the party, but short term it would be a hard loss. Not sure which way things are going, but I sure do hope anyone but Romney/Perry wins the nomination.
To: Fred
People need to either choose Herman Cain or Romney now. They are the two choices we have. I think Cain beats Romney and Obama on all the Conservative issues, and will be our next President if people will start supporting him before it's too late, giving Romney the win.

Herman Cain has a long history as a Conservative Republican. He isn't acting like a typical politician because it's not what we want anymore. We want a guy who does what he says, and doesn't concern himself constantly with being politically correct, and instead saying things like the majority say and think it.
IT'S TIME TO GET ON THE CAIN TRAIN !!!
