Biden Continues to Warn of Rapes and Murders If Jobs Bill Isn't Passed
The Weekly Standard ^ | 18 Oct 2011 | Daniel Halper

Posted on 10/19/2011 2:13:26 AM PDT by Rummyfan

Last week, Vice President Joe Biden warned that more people would likely be raped and murdered if President Obama's jobs bill is not passed. "In 2008, when Flint had 265 sworn officers on their police force, there were 35 murders and 91 rapes in this city," Biden said at an event in Flint, Michigan. "In 2010, when Flint had only 144 police officers, the murder rate climbed to 65 and rapes--just to pick two categories--climbed to 229. In 2011, you now only have 125 shields. God only knows what the numbers will be this year for Flint if we don't rectify it."

Today, Biden reiterated his warning at an event in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.“The other thing I’ve heard from my friends who oppose this – this whole jobs bill and this – that this is just temporary," Biden said. "Well let me tell you, it’s not temporary when that 911 call comes in and a woman’s being raped if a cop shows up in time to prevent the rape, it’s not temporary to that woman. It’s not temporary to the guy whose store is being held up and a gun is being pointed to his head. If a cop shows up and he’s not killed, that’s not temporary to that store owner. Give me a break, temporary! I wish these guys that thought it was temporary, I wish they had some notion what it’s like to be on the other side of a gun or a 200 pound man standing over you telling you to submit. Folks, it matters. It matters!”

It would seem that if the police cannot protect and there aren’t enough funds to hire more, than the average person has to be more responsible for their safety.

I’d say that Shoeless Joe is a master of hyperbole, but then again I doubt that he’s the master of his man cave. If he even has one.

Sounds like Flint, Michigan needs to fix their problem. It’s not a Federal issue.

These threats don’t fly in NJ, where police would often be late to show up even when they were over-staffed. I don’t think NJ crime has changed much at all.

Joe might be right, us folks that get up and go do honest work every day are usually too tired to do much rape and murder.

I can't seem to find anything in the Constitution that makes Flint a Federal responsibility. The good citizens of Flint have local elected officials, aren't the police in Flint their problem rather than mine and yours via our tax dollars?

I realize Biden is more than half a bubble off plumb, but come on, it seems like even the dolts that pass for reporters these days should know that Flint isn't part of the District of Columbia and therefore the local folks have no claim on Federal money to pay their police force. People can carry a gun and defend themselves since local police are under no obligation to protect any individual anyway.

How about this crisis, there will be a plague of vitamin D deficiency illness since Barry added a nice fat tax on tanning beds. We better hurry up and approve tanning bed funds for poor folks so they won't be ill and unable to look for work further burdening the unemployment rolls and the medical system both. Makes as much sense as the Biden BS.

Fearmongery.

The last refuge of scoundrels.

Oh wait. Its the first and second refuge for Joe also. What does that make him?
We have nothing to offer, but fear itself.
Oh how far the Democrats has fallen.

And you do know what it's like Joe?

Biden’s out there sowing the seeds. Just one of the many BAMN tactics used as part of their strategy. I expect to see more of it and for it to be more intense than ever.

But women should not be able to protect themselves with a concealed weapon, isn’t that right Joe? Only the state can protect you. Personally, I think the state is the 200 lb thug standing over us telling us to submit.

Murder? As a good “Catholic” ol’ Joe probably doesn’t lose much sleep over the number of unborn who die each year from the “constitutionally protected” “medical procedure” known as abortion.

The only thing I get from this is Biden seems to be OK with 91 rapes and 35 murders.

That's why they put in the 2nd amendment Mr. Biden(or shoeless Joe, whatever), so we could protect ourselves from muggers and rapists. Unfortunately to many our our states and the feds have pissed away our gun rights to a large extent. Therefore, many women, and men, are going about unarmed while criminals are armed at will. Police can never protect us Joe, they are not crime preventers they are crime investigators and always arrive on the scene after the fact.

If you would put in a rider in the jobs bill that all gun laws in every state are now null and void and use part of the money to buy new firearms for us law abiding citizens, I just might ask my congressman to vote for it.

I wonder how many cops have stopped a rape or a murder in progress.

It’s time for a creative compromise.

Have the government buy a U.S. made shotgun for every competent, non-felon, adult citizen, three boxes of U.S. made ammo, a license for free (non-mandatory) classroom instruction and extra ‘crats to expedite any state needed paperwork.

You provide jobs in the guns and ammo business, and the woman making the 911 call doesn’t have to wait for assistance.

IMO, Biden is obliquely referring to Obama’s Army, the paid occupists flopping all over. The next logical step would be rioting and general mayhem. Never forget what Jimmy Hoffa said right before the paid occupists mysteriously turned up.

If Joe knew what they hell he was talking about, he would speak the truth that rampant narcotics gang that are firmly entrenched in Flint and hundreds of communities that are responsible for the majority of the murders.

The truth is that in all probability each one of those murder or rape suspects did crimes prior to the murders or rapes that would have incarcerated them for most of their adult lives anyway. The truth is the police catch them, the courts let them go. The police cannot protect you individually, they should be able to protect society as a whole but it has to be in conjunction with absolutely no BS prosecution and harsh punishment.

Here’s a couple suggestions to bring down the violence. End the war on drugs, which the gangs kill each other for profit over, and make armed robbery a life offense. That will make a big difference.
