David Axelrod: Herman Cain not a serious contender

David Axlerod took a swing at Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain Monday, saying that he thought Cain’s 9-9-9 proposal would hurt the poor and the middle class.

The senior Obama adviser called Cain an “intruiging personality” on “Morning Joe,” but took a shot at the Republican candidate’s tax proposal, saying, “I think his plan deserves scrunity … I don’t think it’s good for most Americans.”

“I think you’ve got to add the 9-9-9 up, get to 27 percent, and that’s probably what poor and middle-class people will end up paying once the thing is implemented,” Axlerod said.

Despite the attention suddenly being heaped on the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO, Axelrod said Cain was not going to be a top-tier contender in the 2012 election.

“I think, when you look at the resources and when you look at the standing, that Perry and Romney are likely to be duking it out at some point here,” said Axlerod.

When I read that Davie-Axey said “I don’t think it’s good for most Americans,” I figured that “most Americans” meant that over 50 % of Americans do not now pay personal FIT. Yeah, a mere 9 % tax would be a HUGE tax increase to those who now “do not pay their fair share.”

Oh, Alexrod knows that is the case. He's just parroting a meme that I heard another leftist use soon after Cain won the Florida straw poll. The guy, who is one of the leftists who sometimes appears on Hannity, and who is certainly smart enough to understand 9-9-9, basically said: I don't know about this 9-9-9 plan... 9+9+9=27. That adds up to a lot of tax.

Alexrod's statement reveals how they will try to present this to the less-educated masses by trying to fool them into thinking that Cain is proposing a new 27% tax on them -- knowing that some of them will believe it.

It's shameless for them to lie like this, but they ARE leftists after all.

Did you see Bernie on O’Reilly tonight running down Cain's chances? Goldberg is your textbook establishment pundit and is pushing Mitt on us because “conservatives can't win”. We are all purists and our inability to accept Mitt's waffling will hand the election to Obama.

My hope is that Cain can turn these poll numbers into cash to have infrastructure in the battleground states.
