The Talk Shows
October 16th, 2011
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va.; Sen. Dianne Feinstein, R-Calif.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain; Gov. Bobby Jindal, R-La.; former Gov. Tim Pawlenty, R-Minn.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): 2012 Reps. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., and Elijah Cummings, D-Md.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod; Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich.; Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN): GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich.
It'd be nice if we had two parties. We don't.
I didn’t get a chance to watch any of the sreaming face shows this morning. For anyone who did: Did the subject of Europe ever come up? Just curious.
CO has a 3.5% sales tax and once Denver is added in our sales tax is 8%. That means, under 9-9-9, we’d have an effective sales tax of 17% for every purchase except food and 9% on food. That’s offset with a reduction in personal income taxes and lower business taxes but it’s still a chunk of change.
Regardless, time is on our side as the candidates define themselves to voters. Look at the other side too. 0zero is so lame that the MSM has to hype the Occupy Wall Street crowd to have something to talk about.
DNC Dave was clueless in an argument with Cain. He was stuck with someone else chatting points without any thoughts of his own. Cain ate him up.
Go Herman Cain!
There is still a big difference between the socialists in the democratic party and the mostly Conservative Republican party. Sarah Palin spoke out well against crony capitalism. We need to keep the pressure on Washington, DC. It is OUR country as much as theirs!
I agree the media would love to see us divided and work very hard at it.

Quotes of the day (Palin calls Perry out on crony capitalsim! Taking on her own party!)
I’m more interested for now in this dark side of FreeRepublic.
Although I’ve got some misgivings about Cain, particularly his 999 plan.
But I’ve got an open mind, not so open that my brains fall out.
I seriously doubt such a thing would ever pass through congress and I ponder that he shouldn’t abandon the idea.
But again.....I need to be convinced.
I think the big thing about Cains 999 plan is that it ends class warfare. Something the dems just could not stand for.
In short, economic and political insanity, in my humble opinion. Getting rid of that mountain of tax loopholes--which the Forbes flat tax, the 9-9-9 tax plan, and FairTax would do--goes a long, long way towards cleaning up government, to say the least.
True, but that is different from now...how?
They are only in charge as long as the money keeps rolling into DNC coffers and rino election campaigns. That is all changing and the change is on our side.
Perry lost me with his “heartless” comment.
Not saying I can’t be won back but I’m listening closely to his stand on immigration, et al.
If you think that it ends class warfare then you're kidding yourself. By increasing taxes for those at the lower end of the economic spectrum and lowering them for the upper end, it takes 'class warfare' from a Republican issue and gives it to the Democrats. I guarantee that if Cain is the nominee, Obama and the DNC will be throwing out 'class warfare' every chance they get.
That the other thing Conservatives seem to be missing.
Congress has 2 ways to extort the campaign funds they raise to run from special interest groups.
They can either promise favorable regulatory changes or favorable tax code changes.
9-9-9 eliminates one of the primary sources of corruption in our Fed Government. The ability to write preferential treatment into the tax code in exchange for campaign donations and PAC money
Yep, was there too, after learning Bachmann, Cain and Perry meet with 2010’s Harry Reid supporter Donald Trump, started thinking Santorum and Gingrich were starting to look as top tier as any, though I am for any of the above over the lib candidate, Cain had a fine performance this morning and now I have a little more confidence in supporting Cain.
