OKLAHOMA CITY Uganda. Its a country most Americans know little about. Even this reporter knew only a little bit about this small Central African nation until recent months.
But for whatever reason, Uganda, its problems and its people are capturing the attention of the U.S. government, from evangelical congressmen to the president himself. The president is so disturbed by the humanitarian crisis taking place in Uganda and neighboring areas that he wants boots-on-the-ground in that country. In an advisory role of course. Think Vietnam, circa 1960.
But more about that shocking news in a minute.
Giving the green light to this Obama-led action deep in Africa is the power-mad, election-stealing Ugandan president, Yoweri Museveni. Considered a God-fearing, iron-fisted, corrupt-but-stable dictator in power for over 25 years, Museveni is reportedly "close" with members of the secretive Family, as exposed by writer Jeff Sharlet in his recent and revealing book The Family: The Secret Fundamentalism at the Heart of American Power.
In the portions of the book about Uganda, Museveni is a good friend of the Family, according to Sharlet. And most recently, we see that Museveni likely bought votes via the printing of billions of Uganda shillings to help buy votes, thereby fueling inflation, according to a story this week in the Black Star News of New York.

HERE WE GO AGAIN!
I have an idea . Obama needs to round up the entire mass of Occupy Wall Street kids , in several cities and ship them over to Uganda to go after the evil Lord’s Army .
They hate Christians and so they should all be happy to go .
I detest this idiot in the White House!@
More Obama Campaign 2012
He wants to keep the black vote and white guilt vote from wandering off the plantations.
Obama has been criticized by blacks and do-gooder whites for not doing enough to help blacks in the black cess pits around the world.
Expect more of this as we get closer to the election.
His military may as well. This Kenyan SOB is driving a bus with one lugnut left on every wheel. If he thinks the moonbats crapping on Wall and Broad will help him just wait until they turn on him.
Where is the anti-war crowd? At least I respected their peace message—is that only an outrage when a Republican is in office? The left are a bunch of hypocrites!
The American Caliphate at War for Islam.
All those Occupiers holding their End the War! signs better march on over to the White House. President Obama just announced hes sending U.S. troops to central Africa
Sorry, but the anti war crowd is too busy protesting big business and crapping on police cars to worry about this.
They have priorites afterall, the first is bringing about a communist society here.
If you look into it, the LRA is a Central African equivalent of Santeria and Voodoo.
This simply makes you angry. Africa has always had tribal wars, will ALWAYS have tribal wars and seems to be incapable and uninterested in contributing to anything of any value to anyone but themselves. This latest venture puts our troops at risk for absolutely NO good reason.
Meanwhile Christians are having their Church’s burned and being killed all over the Middle East and not a word from our Muslim in the White House.
No war for...Islam!
We’ve had US troops popping in and out of that area since at least the 1970s. I was puttering around the Rift Valley area in 77.
Any way he can find to spend more $ to keep bleeding the country dry .
“.........Well the USSR is Gone..........”
Truth be told the country had a “poacher” problem. Groups of around 10 folks with AKs used to run around the boarder area after dark.
The Lord’s Resistance Army has been a thorn in the side of that part of Africa for almost 25 years.
I’d say “About Time” - regardless of who is in the White House.
Does anybody read the posted article. The article is a left wing rant against the Ugandan government for being beholden to Evangelicals. The author was screaming that Michelle Bachman’s aides are connected to the Museveni government. But posters assumed the Ugandan government is Muslim. What is wrong with this picture.
