ROFLMAO.....I thought the same thing!
Perry at 9%!
Now that is ugly!
This is the poll I’ve been waiting for. Perry looks like a man who has completely lost his campaign. Sad and pathetic. Looks like Cain is making a big challenge to Willard. Will it last? Some conservative has to beat Romney to victory.
I think you are right.
Is the Republican establishment so ignorant that they don’t see that the Dems will use both Romney’s Wall Street background and his Mormonism (especially black skin = sin) against him?
PAUL is ahead of BACHMANN? Wow. Kinda sad.
What say you Professor?
Newt and Cain are both residents of Georgia.
I believe that Cain will need an “insider” as Vice President to assist him in the intricacies of legislation. John Thune of South Dakota would fit this prescription.
Newts 10 along with the 4 to 5% shared between Bachmann/Santorum. Add in about 2/3 of the remaining Perry supporters and yes, Herman Cain very well could be our nominee.
Considering only those presently at the table.....
....... I would support Gingrich/Cain 2012.
RE: Will you tax food?
Will you tax services?
Will you tax medicine?
Will you tax medical services?
If the answer to any of those is yes, its a VAT.

EXCERPT:
Dean Clancy is FreedomWorks’ Legislative Counsel and Vice President, Health Care Policy:
* The 9% Individual Flat Tax would define “income” as gross income less charitable deductions. The 9% Business Flat Tax would define “income” as gross income less all investments, all purchases from other businesses and all dividends paid to shareholders. It appears the 9% National Sales Tax would be applied to all goods and services sold in the economy, though Congress could and presumably would exempt certain “vital” goods and services (such as food, medicines, health care, education).
** Cain’s plan would also include subsidies for Empowerment Zones, politically defined areas designated by Washington for special tax favors. This would detract from his goal of ending distortions and complexity in the tax code.
**** In the “FairTax” plan that Mr. Cain wants to get to ( to eventually replace 9-9-9, which is a transition plan), every citizen and permanent resident alien would receive a monthly cash “prebate” check from the goverment. This is intended to effectively exempt “essentials” like food and medicines from the tax with minimal hassle and paperwork at the cash register.
RE: I would support Gingrich/Cain 2012.
Which means Gingrich will have to officially establish Virginia or DC (where he spends most of his time ) as his residence, instead of Georgia.
He’ll have a problem witht he 12th Amendment if both he and Cain are from Georgia.
Bingo. Romney’s support tops out at 30-35%.
Newt is probably the best of the 3 for the job.. perhaps enough time has passed that Gingrich is past his pure toxic turn off to the electorate and may be able to slowly build a real campaign.
Time will tell.
Definitely not my choice, but you left Perry off.
Texas Governor Rick Perry was the frontrunner when he entered the race and has suffered through a series of poor debate performances while sliding to fourth place at nine percent (9%).
Good points. I am concerned how far away from the primaries we are; it would not be surprising if Cain were to drop down at some point.
The election is still quite fluid at this point and ANYTHING could happen.
Heck, Perry could even regain the top.
I wish Cain the best. I never, ever, ever, ever imagined he would be in the lead AT ANY POINT in the election, but it makes me elated. That’s why I never was a backer of his until now despite loving the guy.
He’ll need to work on getting more plans for things since 999 is his centerpiece basically, but other than that, he’s a good candidate.
A refreshing option to have a real outsider!
He may not have political experience, but you know what...he actually ran successful companies. That’s more than Obama did besides become a legislator. I don’t see his lack of political experience as an issue.
RE: Newt and Cain are both residents of Georgia.
Newt spends most of his time in the VA/DC area anyway. For this purpose ( that is IF he and cain are a tandem ), he might want to officially shift residency ( as Dick Cheney did in 2000 <— he was living in Texas then ).
What Herman Cain is proposing is a 9% federal income tax on individuals, a 9% federal income tax on business and corporations, and a 9% sales tax. The whole point is that it would be a first step toward a fair ( flat) tax. You can read it all here.
You'll see the plan calls for elimination of the payroll tax which means both your contribution and you're employer's would be returned to you. As well, your employer would now be able to charge less for their services/product because they have less employee overhead. Not only would you have more money in your pocket, you may also find you're paying less for what you buy. Finally, what you're currently paying in taxes will go down.
Go there. read it. Think it over.
I’ve heard that, too, the trunk should be up.

OK, can you answer this question -— How do you fund current retirees depending on Social Security if the Payroll tax is eliminated?
Isn’t part of the Payroll tax used to pay for Seniors on SS?
