What say you Professor?
Newt and Cain are both residents of Georgia.
I believe that Cain will need an “insider” as Vice President to assist him in the intricacies of legislation. John Thune of South Dakota would fit this prescription.
RE: Newt and Cain are both residents of Georgia.
Newt spends most of his time in the VA/DC area anyway. For this purpose ( that is IF he and cain are a tandem ), he might want to officially shift residency ( as Dick Cheney did in 2000 <— he was living in Texas then ).
I’m pretty sure Newt Gingrich is officially listed as a resident of Virginia.
Newt Gingrich: Gingrich has lived full-time in a McLean, Virginia, home outside of D.C. that he and his wife, Callista, bought in May of 2000

Additionally, the 12th Amendment says that the electors of a given state cannot cast their votes to more than one person in their state. So it would apparently only apply to the one state - the other 49 states would be able to vote for the two candidates even if they are from the same state, just so long as it is not their state.
That said, it's probably not a good idea to run two people from the same state because it could make the difference in the election, depending on how many electoral votes that state has.
NO Thune! He shouldn't have been renominated for a second term, let alone given a promotion after his back-stabbing.
