You grow your own food, I gather. And your prescription medications too.
Worked just fine for John McCain, at least up to the primary level, and really never came up, was never a factor, in the general.
Mc Cain’s first wife didn’t have cancer.
She is one of his staunchest supporters. You will find very few people who will go on record to say anything against their divorce.
But, Ross Perot would be the right one to start talking to.
Can you provide a source for that? Thank you in advance.
That's exactly right- she was just a permanent total bedridden invalid after the accident. And I know about Ross Perot's support of her. One thing I never understood about that deal however is why exactly didn't the military take care of her?
Yes, it does, and along with that, it terminates all money that is paid into medicare and social security.
You’re right about that also. As I remembered it, she was left as a bedridden invalid, but now i see that it wasn’t permanent.
That shows how much you've thought about this- retirees don't pay social security tax, unless they are working, which means that they are not retirees.
Exactly, because they already paid taxes up the kazoo, for all retirees this would be a double taxation issue. try getting 50 million retirees to go along with something like that and they vote!
and you left out the FICA savings.
Baloney!!!.. There are plenty of talented Freepers who post excellent information, so I don't really see the compelling need to post consistently.
My data?
You've posted a total of 7 threads and 4,781 replies. Yeah, my posting history may be sporadic, but I am participating daily. You "beyond creepy" guys can knock yourselves out. I find it hilarous that you wasted your time to doing it. I guess stalkers need love too.
I know I heard it but not sure of the source. If I find it, I will let you know. However, once you exempt one or two things, what’s to stop them from exempting others, thereby making the whole plan meaningless. Maybe everything should be taxed and have no exemptions.
I’m coming late to this discussion, but I wanted to mention one thing re: Huck’s posting history. Namely, he put up a truly vile thread a day or two after the Bin Laden killing comparing FR to DU. He said we weren’t giving Obama enough credit—and said we were no different than DU in the anti Obama sniping we’d been engaged in. [He may have compared it to DUers hatred of Bush; I’d have to go back and check.]
I posted several comments pointing out how uninformed, inaccurate or just plain old disgusting his comparison was. Plenty of FReepers who had been taken in by Huck’s smear immediately realized they’d been played, and said so. Huck never had the decency to address even one of my comments. He smeared the entire FR community w LIES, and defended them to the end. Something’s definitely not right somewhere.
That post is here:

It wasn’t vile and I’m not ashamed of it at all. It wasn’t a perfect essay, but I stand by it. It generated a lot of discussion, and if you read through the 800+ comments, it’s amazing (to me anyway) how many FR 98’ers agreed with my sentiments.
It was vile in its essence because it was Moral Equivalence at its worst. As I repeatedly pointed out, there was NO/zero comparison between FR and DU. A lot of those that agreed w you had—and in some cases still have—no earthly idea the kind of filth and lies that comprise the daily mainstay of DU. The few tiny snippets I posted opened many eyes. No decent, honest conservative would compare FR on a bad day to DU on a good day. The only way to do it is through the far left liberal/vile goggles of Moral Equivalence. Period.
Huck has a history that I believe makes her valuable to this forum. She lived through 911 up close and personal. Most of us watched it on TV and although we still have strong visceral feelings about it; we still weren't there. It doesn't surprise me that she might react differently to Bin Laden’s killing as compared to the rest of us. I come into contact with a lot of people who are extremely traumatized and they have a wide variety of reactions.
I believe Huck is a good and reasonable person who like everyone else here who feels passionately about politics and her experiences. And like the rest of us here she enjoys a good argument and isn't afraid to make posts that she knows will get a strong reaction.
catfish1957 I am very sorry if my posts in this thread have been offensive to you. That really was not my goal. We certainly agree on most subjects. My goal when I look through someones posting history is to get a feel for where they are coming from, not to "stalk" them. Most of us are at least sheepishly proud of what we have commented on in these threads. You seem to feel differently and I shouldn't have egged you on.
In my defense I will say that over the years I have helped to bring a person or two to the attention of the moderators who were making contradictory statements in different threads. They appeared to be here only to stir up trouble and were eventually zotted. Often after a person is zotted they just come back under a different pseudonym and some of us find satisfaction rooting them out. On occasion I have been thanked for my efforts by the moderators who simply don't have time to keep track of every DU troll who manages to invade this forum. Technically however catfish1957 is correct this is similar to "stalking" game, although my feeling is that he was thinking of a different connotation. I don't mind people coming here and sharing a different opinion; I have a problem with them when their goal seems to be almost purely destructive.
I learned something else from this thread. After a certain period of time in your history all that comes up are the threads that you started not every post that you have left.
I am grateful for the consideration that I have been shown here. Please everyone have a good day.
fm, that was a very good, thoughtful post. You made a slew of good points, but not one dissuaded me one iota from my prior comments. Moral Equivalence is one of the greatest evils, if not THE greatest evil, of the modern age. It is what enables the most hateful, vile and vicious people on the left to look at something good and call it evil, and look at something evil and (1) ignore it, (2) justify it or, (3) call it good.
I speak from experience. I have gone to the mat, a full nine rounds and then some, w people who are wedded to the concept of Moral Equivalence [as is Obama, btw]. These are nasty, hateful persons w a massive ax to grind. They hate the West, ‘western style Christianity’, traditional Western/Judeo-Christian values, etc. etc. Everything they say serves to justify anti-Christian values. No matter how horrifying an atrocity you point to as committed by Muslims or other third world or tribal people, they never condemn or even express concern over it. Invariably, the first word out of their mouth is to cite a mild Western ‘atrocity’ [usually it’s either a minor incident or else completely fabricated] and draw a moral equivalence. It is skin-crawling evil itself.
The same principle underlies the idea that FR = DU. The incidents cited in the post linked above [that FReepers didn’t sufficiently rejoice over Bin Laden’s death] are nothing—not even remotely close to being in the same ballpark—as the daily fare on DU. The pure hate, bile, vicious, lying, nakedly anti-anything/everything good about the West, Christianity, etc., that makes up the average DU day, would cause a normal conservative to want to vomit, then shower, then try to forget such indecency exists in the world, much less the USA. To equate the FR reaction to Bin Laden’s death w that cesspool of vile hateful nastiness/evil is not just OTT—it is pure, unadulterated Moral Equivalence. It disgusts me just to think about it.
Just typing this caused me to remember some of the purest, vilest garbage I have read on DU. Yuck; now I need a shower.
makes = make
“Gingrich is the smartest, most well-informed candidate out there.”
Agreed. However there’s a thing called electability.
The left & liberal media would skewer Gingrich again if he comes close to winning the nomination. Otoh, I think he’ll make be a fine advisor for President Cain when it comes to working with Congress to make things happen.
