Vice President Joe Biden said today that "nothing has been taken off the table" when it comes to the U.S. response to an alleged plot by Iran to assassinate the Saudi Arabian ambassador to the U.S. and unleash deadly terrorist bombings in Washington, D.C.

"It is an outrageous act that the Iranians are going to have to be held accountable," Biden told ABC News' "Good Morning America". "This is really over the top."

Any attack on Iran will absolutely be WWIII.

This isn’t some Libyan ‘mugging’ scenario. The Syrians and the Iranians can and will shoot back.

That can be the only reasonable conclusion when they send the nitwit out to make public proclamations.

The Saudi's have their own means of retaliation.

At one time they could have driven the world price of oil down to about three bucks a barrel and made Whackmandinijad cry uncle. I don't think they have that sort of leverage today unfortunately.

To ‘wag the dog’ means to purposely divert attention from what would otherwise be of greater importance, to something else of lesser significance. By doing so, the lesser-significant event is catapulted into the limelight, drowning proper attention to what was originally the more important issue.

The expression comes from the saying that ‘a dog is smarter than its tail’, but if the tail were smarter, then the tail would ‘wag the dog’. The expression ‘wag the dog’ was elaborately used as theme of the movie. ‘Wag the Dog’, a 1997 film starring Robert de Niro and Dustin Hoffman, produced and directed by Barry Levinson.

When I say the Saudi's have their own means of retaliation, I am referring to their own air force, which we have sold to them and trained their pilots.

The U.S. doesn't need to send a squadron of B-2's on a non-stop, circuitous route to Iran to drop MOABs when the Saudi's can do it themselves.

How foolish the American people are!!! I must pat myself on the back for pointing out to the American sheeple on this very site that they go to bed every night in harm’s way placed there purposely by POTUS Obama and his ilk. Iran has no fear of the USA and laughs at us for putting that weakling, POTUS Obama in the White House. Wanna hear more, we lose Iraq, we lose Afgahnistan and we lose most of the Middle East to Muslim terrorists, just as Obama has deemed and desired. That is the truth!!! Why??? Obama is one of them, just another fully certified member of the “Muslim Brotherhood” and hater of Israel!!! How’s that hope & change working out for you, America???

You’re giving them too much credit for even knowing what the Gulf of Tonkin is.

Heh....possibly. Biden recently claimed not to know who Van Jones was.

Yeah, because this worked out so well in Iraq. Now that we are bogged down there, we have troops as hostages. The Iraqis love the Iranians a whole lot more than they do us. We are a bankrupt country that is exhausting its military personnel. Just what we need... one more war, and a bigger one at that.

The last time we saved Saudi Arabia’s butt, they thanked us by producing the 9/11 terrorists from their radical schools. Let them solve their own problem. And Israel has more weapons, including the only nukes, in the ME. Iran may bluster a lot, but they are not crazy enough to bring on their own annihilation.

This whole Iran bomb the Saudi/Israeli concoction stinks of a Clinton style diversion.

“Gunwalker” IMO is the end of Obama, Holder, and this Iran crap is just another attempt to stall the inevitable.

I think the premise of Gunwalker “Fast & Furious”, and all the other associated BATFE operations from Arizona to Houston to Florida, and elsewhere also stink of the Clintons.

It’s their typical modus Operandi, and the collateral damage as far as they are concerned is nothing, as winning their goals is far more important than some dead people.

Isn't it a bit of a task to take anything off the table when there is nothing on it?

Clearly we need to give more funding to the UN, so they can establish a multinational committe to study this situation and perhaps send a strongly worded message to the Iranians. Wouldn’t want it to escalate. Of course, they’ll also need travel expenses to the French Riveria for their meetings, a task force to do research on why the Iranians hate everyone, funding for bribes, oops, I mean, humanitarian aid, etc. Eventually they might even bring it to a vote in the UN Security Council, which the Russians and Chinese would of course, then veto. But, hey, we DID something.

Now explain to me how he or 0 are going to keep these promises when he is DOWNSIZING the Military by 90.000?

And you can bet a dime it won’t be the Brass he goes after, they already have their retirement vested.

Navy is 3,000 CPO’s...with no vested retirement.

Think about it. Why would Iran want to attack on US soil when there are softer targets. How would the US likely respond, bombing the Iranian nuclear reactors, possibly forcing a regime change. If you were the Iranian government you would you want nuclear weapons before confronting the US. What would Iran gain if this plot had succeeded, very little compared what would they stand to lose a great deal.
