HANOVER, N.H. (AP) -- Presidential candidate Mitt Romney took some less staunchly conservative stands than his rivals in their debate Tuesday night, declaring he can work with "good" Democrats and positioning himself closer to the center in line with his claim that he can draw crucial independent voters in next year's general election.
He even defended portions of the Wall Street bailout, a particular sore point with many conservative voters who will play an important role in choosing the Republican nominee next winter and spring.

Great. Yet another Presidential election where two Democrats are running. A Marxist seeking re-election and a challenger who is basically a center-left DLC Democrat.
Frig this “it’s a center-right country”, blah, blah, blah bullsh**.
I’m with you there. Mittens has zero chance of getting my vote.
Is there really such a thing as a “good democrat”...don’t think so.
“Democrats are bastard-coated bastards with bastard filling.”
Tell us how you really feel. LOL
Romney got a little hot under the collar with Perry while responding to Perry’s question about Romneycare.
Romney also dissed Perry by directing his question to Bachmann.
Glad you liked it.
That line always gets a laugh.
Cheers!
You know as well as I do...
The only good democrat is a dead democrat.
“Yeah, I think we all know how a President Romney would play out, and it would have disaster written all over it.”
Inside of 3 months as President, he’ll have his a** handed to him from the withering attacks by the MSM and then will begin caving at light speed to every Democrat idea that comes down the pike in an attempt to buy some breathing room.
We need an extremely strong executive this time around to really clean things up instead of the two-party cartel status-quot.
“Sounds to me like the sequel to that 2008 box office disaster of a horror film, MAVERICK.”
Romney is basically the Republican version of a Bill Clinton.
"I'm a uniter not a divider."
Rush will slice and dice the RINO’s comments tomorrow.
He doesn’t need the conservative vote - he’s looking for the independent and for the cross over liberals.
Mitt Romney: Abortion
I believe abortion should be safe and legal in this country.
I will preserve and protect a woman's right to choose.
I am not going to change our pro-choice laws in Mass. in anyway.
More than once, too: "tax cuts don't work." ~ Mittens
I saw somewhere tonight that 70% of Republicans do not want Romney as our nominee. Yet, the media continues to spin for him and treat him like the invincible front runner. He's clearly the Democrat choice for Republican nominee.
He’s not counting on the conservative vote - he, jeb and newt already said ‘the Reagan Era is over’. He’s counting on the ‘buyer’s regret’ barry voter and the independents. He pretty much announced that.
Amen!
He made robo calls to independents today with Christie, saying that they both knew how to work with Democrats because they were both elected in blue states and that they were in agreement on one thing, cutting spending. He was saying that both he and Christie were moderates, not conservatives.
Romney thumbed his nose at conservatives today.
WA state GOP invited Romney to be the keynote speaker at their convention last year, a lot of people were concerned but went to listen anyway. We elected a new chairman. The old chairman of the GOP took a lobbying job with the SEIU and nothing has changed much. We have liberal Democrats and only slightly less liberal Republicans, who will vote for Romney.
