WASHINGTON — White House chief of staff William Daley has told President Barack Obama he will stay until after the 2012 re-election campaign but then wants to go home to Chicago, a senior administration official said today.
Daley, formerly an executive at JPMorgan Chase, became Obama’s top aide in January. He is the brother and son of former Chicago mayors.
Daley’s plans were first reported Monday by Mary Ann Ahern of WMAQ-Channel 5 in Chicago. The chief of staff said: “I made a commitment to the president through his re-election, which I’m confident he will do, and then my wife and I will be back in Chicago."
The election is Nov. 6, 2012.
Daley spoke last week to Norah O’Donnell, chief White House correspondent for CBS News, who interviewed Daley last week at a panel discussion at the Newseum.
She said that when he was brought into the White House, there was discussion that he would strengthen ties with Capitol Hill and the business community and asked: “How’s that going?”

The Food Stamp President stimulates the job market again with another high level staff member to depart. Look at the job openings if he could just get his entire administration to resign. There are a lot of competent people out there who could actually perform those jobs. Ok, all the potential job seekers might not be queer, socialists or communist, black or Hispanic, eco-freaks, mentally or economically impaired and not simpering suckups, but they could probably perform the jobs much better.

Daly’s the guy who lectured us after the Gore defeat in FL about judging voting on the basis of ‘intent’. Now, if the presumption is re-election, in 2012 Daly will have to pull many millions more ‘intended’ votes out of his hat in the old fashioned way, earning him brand new ticket, not to Chicago, and not to pick up $200, but to go directly to jail with the rest of ACORN and their ilk.
