I speak of this in connection with Cain’s past endorsement of Romney and his spoken willingness to be a veep to Romney (but not to Perry).` Cain apparently does not fear that Romney’s church will push Romney to turn on Cain. I don’t mean such pointless things as should Cain ask if Romney is “Christian.” Cain as a Baptist minister knows what his nominal faith says about that.

Spare us the absurd projection. The only “Cult of Personality” candidate in the GOP race is Perry. Cain has a real agenda and plans that everyone can see and debate. Perry has laid out no vision, no plan, no Presidential Agenda. The only reasons people support him is because they like his style.

That is by definition a “Cult of Personality” candidate

Perry is a blank slate who allows voters to project their own personal political agenda on to him by making meaningless speeches full of nice sounding words and platitudes. He's the Conservative Obama.

Kind of like you reflexifly[sic] reaching for the "Cult of Personality" garbage, right?

Not at all. Funny how the same names seem to pop up here, from Alan Keyes, to Fred Thompson, to Sarah Palin, and now to Herman Cain. Probably quite a few sent money to that grifter from Maryland, Christine O'Donnell. And no matter how many times you're wrong, you just go on the rebound again, ready to put the next one on a pedestal, rationality be damned.

I think they just can’t face reality. When presented with a collection of bad choices, they simply insist on deluding themselves, not merely that there is a clear choice, albeit with faults, but that there is one choice worthy of love and admiration. They simply can’t deal with reality.

This is true and I have complained about it before to Perrywinkles who only say “consider his record” highlighting some nice sounding things (but his actual record is more checkered, I’m a poet and don’t know it, I rhyme every time).

If he’d do what either Bachmann or Cain did, it would raise many people’s comfort level with him. He wants to be Obama’s worst nightmare, well then Perry please document what that nightmare will look like? Pretty please Perry?

I speak of this in connection with Cain’s past endorsement of Romney and his spoken willingness to be a veep to Romney (but not to Perry).

That's because you are either misinformed or being willfully dishonest.

Cain endorsed Romney right before Super Tuesday when it basically was down to Romney and McCain.

Meanwhile, La Raza Rick endorsed Rudy in October 2007 when there were plenty of other conservative candidates in the race.

AS far as the veep comment, listen to what Cain said. He basically said that he was comfortable with what Romney's stated positions are TODAY and that he was NOT happy with Perry's stated positions TODAY. Like a good heartless conservative, he left Perry plenty of room to walk back his comments.

Depending on the down-ticket races, and who stays in between now and the primary, they will have to poll the Democrats too in order to figure out what may happen. This race really could get crazy unpredictable

You cannot forget that almost 30% of the South Carolina voters in 2008 were black. Hence, if the Democrats try and push Democrat voters to cross over and skew the Republican Primary they will be telling 1 voter in 3 to vote against the black man running for President. It could easily be argued that Bill Clinton's comments in South Carolina in 2008 cost Hillary the Dem nomination.

This could be a train wreck for the Dems.

Regards,

TS

I like you passion for Cain but he has no governing or legislative record to speak of. I need more substance and that is why I support Rick Perry. That doesn't mean I wouldn't vote for Cain if he somehow wrestled the nomination away from Romney. I still don't see that happening. Cain has no organization and little money.

When I look at Herman Cain I see a successful businessman and radio talkshow host who is good at running his mouth but with no experience in politics. When I looked at Ross Perot in 1992, I saw a successful businessman and a straight talker who was good at running his mouth but with no experience in politics.

Since Palin has dropped out we have seen her supporters migrate to Cain. Clearly this is why Cain has seen his support increase, especially around this forum. The Cain supporters place a lot of emphasis on personality and less on actual accomplishment and achievement in politics and governance. In that bregard, the Cain phenomenon is not unlike the Perot phenomenon from the 1990`s. Both seem to have a strong cult of personality following.

Can you imagine if Cain is nominated, and tries to sell his national sales tax to the general electorate? lol. I have to believe that the GOP electorate won’t do this to us, but these are troubled times, and a Tea Party that wants to tax tea—and everything else—has lost its moorings.

“if Perry can’t do it, Mitt will.
I hope it happens tonight. But I’m not sure it will. The painted rock fiasco might have defanged Perry re: Cain. Cain played the race card”

Perry hunted on leased land for charity several times. Romney is a lifetime member of an organization that prohibited Blacks from joining. Perry was against the tobacco brand-name on the rock. Romney was against the rules prohibiting Blacks from joining practiced by his church. Square one. Cain’s personal thoughts, beliefs, actions, etc have not been vetted. Probably won’t be. He is an impressive figure because we read it and hear it. Sounds like the flip side of another experience.

So, Cain still said he’d personally serve as veep to Romney, and we can leave out “if the stars are aligned.” Cain apparently does not believe the LDS will turn Mitt against him, or for that matter against any wise policy.

Try making a rational case for your candidate. Quit spending all your time smearing Cain.

You have yet to post one intellectually honest, factual post about Cain. If you tried to do so, people might take you seriously.

Try it one time. Try telling why we should vote FOR your choice ?

You are a classic example of a cult of personality follower.

You cannot make a rational factual case FOR you candidate.

You can only post emotion based, hyperbolic smear attacks on anyone who does not worship the same candidate as you.

Cain is no Sarah Palin. He can’t win votes like she did from the VP slot.

Cain, for his lack of “political experience” (meaning he has only been a subject of political droids but never been among their ranks) has made more campaign promises and proposals than Perry to date.

Perry could easily fix this. Maybe he will some day hopefully soon. No more fogs in the White House please. No more well meaning GOP dolts who think that illegales given an easy pass to US citizenship will magically become Republicans or even independents or blue dog Democrats rather than going far left wing to maximize the spoils they get.

If Palin followers are turning to Cain more than to Perry, it’s because Cain is matching up better with Palin.
