Forget Herman Cains 9-9-9 plan. Rival GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum said on Friday that solving the countrys economic woes is all about 0-0-0.
At a gathering of social conservatives in Washington, Santorum took a swipe at fellow Republican contender Cains 9-9-9 economic plan, saying I have a better plan.
The former Pennsylvania senators solution is to have zero income tax on manufacturing companies, zero taxes on repatriated corporate profits that are invested in manufacturing equipment and zero Obama-era regulations.
One of the great problems in our economy, if you look at it is the middle of America has started to disappear the middle income of America, Santorum said. Why? Because the manufacturing jobs in America have disappeared.
Santorum said his 0-0-0 plan would reignite Americas economy by stimulating growth in the manufacturing sector. Cains 9-9-9 plan would amount to a complete overhaul of the tax code by instituting a 9 percent flat personal income tax, a 9 percent sales tax and a 9 percent corporate income tax.
When it came to national security, Santorum threw an apparent elbow at another GOP candidate, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who gave a rambling answer when he was asked at a recent debate how he would respond to a 3 a.m. national emergency call.
When that phone call comes at 3 in the morning, ladies and gentlemen, I will be up and waiting for the call because I will know what is going on in the world around us and they wont have to get me out of bed, Santorum said.

Fair tax is the second phase of Cain’s plan.
I think I've got the ultimate 9-9-9 inversion: say it in German ("nein!-nein!-nein")!
lol, nice pic
Yes, this is some of what I was referring to:
http://www.ronpaul.com/2009-04-15/end-the-income-tax-abolish-the-irs/
He’s been advocating for ending the IRS for years. Would certainly stimulate the economy, all that extra dough in ones pocket. Plus the time/labor cost/paper work cost of accountants... especially small business owners
That is music to my ears. Thanks!
Like I said, he can promise the world knowing that there’s absolutely no chance he’ll ever be in a position to keep his promise.
Besides he seems to be siding with the fascist mob these days and needs to do the right thing and leave the party that doesn’t want him.
Cain started a healty discussion by making a concrete proposal.
“I think he means RuPaul.”
Ron Paul’s idea of radical tax reform is the elimination of taxes on tip wages. Because we all know that waiters are the future.
“Did you hear that Obama is going to turn Herman Cains 9-9-9 Plan upside down? Obamas calling it the 6-6-6 Plan.”
Haa haa, good one! This brings Jimi Hendrix to mind, “What if a six turned out to be nine?”

Ron Paul.
I don’t get it. No matter what the tax, Congress never stops spending. Balancing the budget would require a 100% tax and Congress would still go out and spend more besides the future debt coming due in the form of interest and principle payments that will go overseas and not back in to the US economy.
999 is absurd. First, you get taxed making money then you get taxed spending money beside being put on unequal footing with businesses. We already have it that way for ones who pay taxes now.
If half the population doesn’t pay any taxes now to begin with and 999 is suppose to equal the current revenues from IRS collections then only about half of each 9% tax would collect as much taxpayers send in now since everyone would be involved now including corporations.
If you are going eliminate the IRS tax code first, then make a 10% maximum or less flat tax on consumption and make Congress live within their means instead of pie in sky, grant all wishes, control the universe with their laws, attitudes...of course a new banking system has to be put in place to deal with the current debt before any new tax plan would work.
I suggest you read this link for more details of the 9-9-9 plan including answers to often asked questions plus a CALCULATOR for your taxes is on that site.

Looks like the barrels are pointed at ole’ Herm now.
I like Santorum’s plan better maybe for no better reason than I think a VAT tax is a horrible idea.
These grand design things like Obamacare or the Ryan Plan or 9-9-9 are all recipes for poltical disaster at the end of the day. It doesn’t matter whether they are good or bad on paper, they usually don’t happen and are eventually like slow moving barges in the middle of a high-tech naval battle. So easy to ka-boom!
As for 9-9-9 specifically, it proposes to tear up the 70,000 page tax code that has 500 different interests ready to defend every sentence of it. It’s HOW all the sentences got in there in the first place—political payoffs. Does anyone really imagine a Congress will convene that will countermand the biggest sources of their own campaign dollars—??
I’d say this to any candidate: propose practical tax cuts that you might get passed. Skip the waterfall plans. Once or twice a century one of these Big Ideas is implemented; and it’s usually a disaster.
We pay fo it all already anyhow. Corporations don’t pay taxes, their customers do as part of the final cost. I’m not saying Santorum’s plan is better or worse, but at least businesses will have less overhead and able to higher more people; oh yeah, and less overhead also = lower prices.
Cain could have won his U.S. Senate primary campaign, instead of getting completely massacred by Johnny Isakson, if wanted to be taken seriously.
RE: I like Santorums plan better maybe for no better reason than I think a VAT tax is a horrible idea.
I hope you understand that Herman Cain’s National Sales tax is NOT a VAT tax.
