Rick Perry’s position is against amnesty, against the DREAM Act and for securing the border. His position on instate tuition and on the border fence is wrong imho, but his positions are not ‘open borders’, eg, he is for ‘strategic fencing’ not a full border fence.
I know its not satisfactory on this issue, but if it does come down to a guy who might not be strong enough on immigration but is otherwise conservative, vs Romney and the question of whether he will even 100% repeal obamacare, he’s a better choice for conservatives.
If not Perry, who? Right now, Cain is the surging candidate. But if he gets foot-in-mouth like Bachmann, then what?
“I don’t care about his funding. Word of mouth and the bloggers will overcome the media campaigns.”
True, but money helps.
His "position?" He can talk all he wants -- I care about what he's done as a Governor and that is just about nothing. Texas Ranger Recce Teams? C'mon! There's not enough of them in the whole organization to cover even a small slice of the border. A virtual fence is just lip service and anybody that's not for a barrier is going to be suspect in other areas as a "conservative" IMHO. As far as Cain getting "foot in mouth" issues, they all will do that to some degree. The point is that Cain's inexperience in foreign policy doesn't speak to his competence to be POTUS. A good leader (there is EVERY indication that leadership is Cain's strongest attraction) will surround himself with the best in each area the country has to offer and then listen to their counsel before making a decision which any good leader is going to have to do. This POTUS (Zero) has surrounded himself with sycophants and drivelling idiots just like himself. Is it any wonder the country is a mess?
