So once Perry and Cain turn each other to mincemeat, we will welcome Candidate Romney?

Please explain to me why I should be concerned about Mr Cain’s supposed support for Huckabee in 2008 yet NOT be concerned with Rick Perry’s endorsement of uber GOP liberal Rudy Giuliani?

“Oddly though, Cain rejected the idea of a president authorizing the death of American citizen, as in the case of Anwar al-Awlaki, without due process guaranteed by the Fifth Amendment”.

Have to agree with him here - what is not to agree with? Do you really think that a President has the authority to kill an American citizen?

We are going to slime Cain like PMSLSD now? Get out of here. He is a Solid Conservative and does not deserve this hit. Are there not better low hanging fruit like Mittens and Obummer to hit hard right now?

Okay it's clear that Cain wasn't aware of the specifics of Alwaki back THEN. It's obvious that he was giving an answer based on the belief that it was a citizen living WITHIN the borders of the United States. If that were the case then his answer is exactly right..but it gets murkier when a citizen leaves the country and in essence forfeits his rights to due process by living abroad and actively fighting against his country.

I give Cain a BIG PASS on this. There's nothing here but wishful thinking.

Cain said. “Keep in mind that there are a lot of people out there trying to make me sound as if I am indecisive.”

Cain? Indecisive? Nah. He ALWAYS has the same two opposite answers he gives for every single answer. You can't be indecisive when you don't give a real political stand on anything anyway. That's just called "fooling people".

In a two-way race between Perry and Cain, I'll be voting for the Conservative.

Let he who has never changed their mind, or their position based on further information or reflection, or forgotten one statement (out of 100s if not 1,000s) made 6 months ago - let them cast the first stone!

Thank you for proving my point.

You cannot make a case FOR Perry, you can only recklessly attack everyone else or whine about how Perry has supposedly been treated.

Utterly absurd for the Perry campaign to complain now given the reckless arrogant tactics they have been engaging in.

Interestingly, Tax Hike Mike Huckabee held a similar position as Perry on in-state tuition for children of illegal immigrants, but that didn’t stop Cain from sending Huckabee $2,300 during the 2008 primary.

Nah, Cain couldn’t do that. That would’ve been against his principles.

Perry is Dan Quayle with Dubya's swagger, and without Dubya's brains.

It's fun watching the Zeppelin Perryburg losing all its gas.

Got a light?

Cheers!

Well first of all, this is the first that I have heard - you’re saying it’s okay to take out American citizens if he suspects they are terrorist related. Is that what you said?! Yes, that’s what I said. I’ve got to be honest with you. I have not heard that. I had not heard that’s something that he said. I don’t believe that the president of the United States should order the assassination of citizens of the United States.

Uh oh. Just when I was starting to warm up to the guy. Bachmann? down. Perry? stumbling. Next up - Cain. And he doesn't even know there is a terrorism hit list that could include American citizens? This is our last relief pitcher and he is already taking hits. Not the end of the world on this one so we'll see how it goes.

Cain is obviously in over his head. He’s trying to BS his way through this process. Which means he’ll be a perfect fit for wayward Palin fans.

Please note that the interview in question is 5 months old.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the Obama administration did NOT have a publicly stated policy at that time favoring the targeting of US citizens with deadly force. Or if they did, it was not stated as such by Obama himself, and it was not widely commented upon.

I certainly was unaware of it, and I follow this stuff fairly closely.

The public controversy only arose after Al-Awlaki was killed.
