Soros fails to quash insider trading conviction (Has Occupy Wall Street said anything?)

George Soros, the billionaire hedge fund manager, has lost a case at the European Court of Human Rights to have his criminal conviction for insider dealing quashed.

The failed appeal in a 4-3 decision by the Strasbourg-based court is the latest twist in a nine-year battle by the 81-year-old Mr Soros to clear his name following his conviction in France in 2002.

Soros has had a Russian warrant out for his arrest since Oct 2005 for currency manipulation.

He made billions selling the Russian rouble short. In 2001, thanks largely to the efforts of George Soros and his cartel, the Russian rouble fell from $0.16 to $0.03 in just a few weeks.

Soros walked away with billions.

Too bad we don’t have an extradition treaty with Russia.

They aren’t as concerned with human rights as Europe is.

He has no good name and why didn’t they throw him in the dungeon?

The next time Obama or some left wing politician cites “International Law” we can say we’ll listen to what they have to say when they call for George Soros to turn himself in.

I am no fan of Soros's politics, but Soros did not manipulate the rouble or any other major currency into a fall. Soros's positions agains the pound, rouble, etc. are trivial in comparison with daily trading flows. The problem is that countries attempt to manipulate their own currencies to hold a value that is way out of line with an unmanipulated market value. Soros bets on the correction. Big time. And wins. Big time. He also loses sometimes, big time.

You do know what Soros is worth, don't you? I am not here to defend Soros. I detest his politics. But detesting him should not make one blind to the truth of how he makes his money, which is basically by betting against the foolishness of others, governments especially.

However he makes his money, he is using some of it to destroy this country. He can go straight to hell.

Gee, thanks for popping my bubble.

I was romanticizing about Soros rotting in a Russian prison.

I’ve stayed in Russian hotels, and, trust me, if their hotels are that bad, you can only imagine what their prisons are like.
:)

But the Russians do have a warrant for his arrest. I don’t know if the Russian Federation has a statute of limitations, though. If so, Soros is probably off the hook soon, as the warrants were issued in 2005, when the Russian feds shut down Soros’ Moscow operation and arrested everyone in the office that morning.

So will someone print off about 5000 copies of this and go hand it out to the OWS twits?

Seems their paymaster is the very thing they claim to be protesting.
