Coverage of Sarah's announcement on Fox and Friends this morning (35 seconds)
Posted on 10/06/2011 3:55:57 AM PDT by Scythian
I rolled out of bed ran down and got my cup of coffee and back up to bed to watch Fox and Friends, I thought for sure Sarah's announcement would come after the coverage of Steve Job's passing, but I kept waiting, and waiting, and waiting. I even began to doubt that what I had read about Sarah's not running last night was a fake. Finally, at 6:35 this morning, 35 minutes into the show spoke about Sarah's announcement. Mind you, this is after talking about today being national noodle day for at least 3 minutes.
The coverage was short, probably 30 seconds worth, and it was demeaning towards Sarah in my opinion.
1) Gretchen stated that the reason Sarah didn't do a press conference like Christie was that there were actually people pressing Christie to run. Now, this implies that the regular people pushing for Sarah to run aren't real people like the ones pushing for Christie.
2) Whats his name made a remark about Sarah's "Title" statement.
I was really shocked.

I’m a big fan and was sorely disappointed by the news yesterday. But, once the news was out she became essentially irrelevant in my opinion. Her standing lately has been as a potential presidential candidate. Now, she is more or less, nothing.

She was critiquing them from the standpoint of would be candidate.
Limbaugh is by far the most trusted Conservative voice in the nation and I question him sometimes (I am usually wrong). My problem was if Palin said it it was true, to her followers.
Her critique will be more real now as a non candidate.

The republican field sucks... worst lineup in my lifetime... all but Cain... and he will need Sarah to defeat any of the other pathetic candidatesThanks for saving me the trouble of typing this thought. It's where I am at right now.

I do not care about the feelings of any liberal... especially two posers like perry and romney... man those are the faces of the liberal republican elite. mitt is a flaming liberal and perry is a junior progressive. EVERY single candidate has to be vetted completely and Palin is the most bad ass vetter we have ever seen. If the pathetic candidates cannot take the heat... then they can take their progressive selves out of the race. Cain is the only candidate left that has any inkling of what America needs... and he needs Sarah's help and guidance.

You are a good poster no doubt. I always like your posts but vet Cain thoroughly. He's a gentleman and I like how he proclaims Jesus but vet his plans.

Yes... they are pretty much cnn today... oh they have Hannity and their business channel is pro business... somewhat... but the fox is a left leaning news outlet with as many liberals working for them as any other network.

She went on to explain that she didnt want that amount of coverage, because the decision not to run isnt about Governor Christie and it isnt about herself, Governor Palin. Its about the electoral process in general. Let those that are not running get out of the way so that the candidates that are running can take the stage, debate, be vetted and go to the primaries. Too bad she didn't do that a couple of months ago when Bristol said that Sarah had already made up her mind.

Fox and Friends has got to be the worst morning news program in the history of news programs. Truly. You'd get better coverage watching Imus in the Morning than those three boobs.
Usually the second news story on F&Fs is about some televangelist who died, went to heaven and met God and Jesus (never St. Peter, of course, he's too low on the totem pole) and then came back - miraculously - to life. Their other favorite second news story is usually a very hot interview with a country & western star who has a new album out.

Cain is not perfect... granted... he needs Palin’s guidance... but as flawed as he is... his conservative credentials shine when compared to any other candidate in the field... the rest of the field’s flaws are canyons compared to Cain’s ditch. BTW... Rush says while not perfect... his 9-9-9 plan is better than any other plan put forth by the other two hairdos.

Hannity covered it nicely last night and Palin was on Greta.

Cain has been doing just fine WITHOUT Palin's "guidance" thank you very much.

If she’d done that, could she have given the speech on September 3rd where she touted “her plan”?

I trust Newt with the best plan.
“Move toward an optional flat tax of 15% that would allow Americans the freedom to choose to file their taxes on a postcard, saving hundreds of billions in unnecessary costs each year.”
Not sure why so many people are fascinated by a sales tax instead of a flat income tax.

Palin made herself into a joke. She fails to realize that since she is NOT running, then far fewer folks will care what she thinks. She has become the kind of backseat driver, coach-from-the-couch persona that makes me cringe.
To: Scythian
They seem to be smugly silent and satisfied that Sarah Palin is gone.
Just like a lot of posters here on FR.
Reminds me of a scene of the Matrix where Smith thinks he has won.

You are welcome... the truth is the truth and Conservatives cannot be spun with propaganda or threats... not any longer. I do not care if the republican party survives... I despise them as much as I do the dims... same infection... just in earlier stages of disease. What I do care about is a Conservative that is dedicated to returning America to her greatness by defeating liberalism in the dim and republican parties and winning the presidency... a liberal republican will give us the same results as obama... granted... at a slower pace. They can elect another liberal republican without my help. This is the last chance for the republican party... and maybe even America herself. progressive republicans on FR will not find me their ally... for they are an enemy to Conservatism as much as reid, pelosi or obama.

Funny. Freepers complain when Christie calls a huge press conference and then gives an hour long speech telling us he's not running. Sarah gives a simple statement, and she gets attacked for not making it big and long.
To: Scythian
I guess I am for Cain these days but he needs to polish, study, and study some more. His weakness is speaking before thinking, to say what he thinks is the right answer for the questioner and crowd of the moment. He has core values, but he needs to build about a 1/2 pause-and-check in before he speaks. Maybe he should read or re-read all those letters of Reagan’s, to build in that kind of inner reflective voice and habit.
