While Cain is likely to hit a ceiling in the near future, he's effectively dug into Perry's base and helped expose the frontrunner's weakness. Fracturing the anti-Romney vote has made it all the easier for Romney to win.
With New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie out of the race, no one is competing with Romney for moderate Republicans.
Cain himself might not be too upset with that outcome. While he's been a frequent critic of Romney on the trail, he endorsed the tenuous front-runner in 2008.

I don't think anyone at FR wants to raise the debt. Which candidate does? Provide a link to show where whoever this candidate is made such a bad move.

Cain will endorse Romney again and so will Bachmann.
All the conservative here who put Cain and Bachmann ahead of Perry are in for a real let down.
Too radical for the RINOs. You’ll give them the Vapours.
BS
Mitt smit I can’t stand him.
So do you plan on telling all those Tea Party members who over overwhelmingly voted for him recently in Schaumburg that they aren’t true Tea Party Members?
Of course the fix is in. Romney will get the nod, and whether he or Obama wins won’t matter.
Yep
Of course the fix is in. Romney will get the nod, and whether he or Obama wins won’t matter.
Cain is a likable guy, so was Palin but when it comes down to it this election is about results.
Obama's stats vs. Perry on job creation and REAL issues like life, gun control, monetary policy and individual and states rights
Obama stats vs. Cains stats and Obama's stats vs. Mitt's stats on all the issues I just mentioned.
Perry is by far the most vocal and most consistent on all those issues and the polar opposite of Obama.
This is a stats election, not a personality election.
Rino’s are scared. That’s why they were begging so hard for Christie (you think freepers are upset over Palin’s no? Christie was their Palin)
They know evangelicals won’t vote for a pro-abortion Mormon. The small business class won’t go for him because of Romneycare. And Palin won’t split the conservative vote.
Just like he has been as governor of Texas, Rick Perry would be George Bush’s third term. Like Bush, Perry campaigns like a conservative and governs like a moderate and is more interested in what’s good for their beloved Mexico than what’s good for the U.S.
The primary differences is that Bush is more honest (when you’re born rich you don’t need to sink to “pay to play” schemes) and more articulate than Perry.
What are you talking about?
Herman Cain was employed by WSB Talk Radio which is owned by Cox Media.
Then it’s time to go RINO hunting. :D
What’s the bag limit again?
“All the conservative here who put Cain and Bachmann ahead of Perry are in for a real let down.”
You got that right!!! The crying when Milt is the nominee would be funny, except the stakes, like the survival of the country, are at hand.
But that doesn’t matter. It’s better for some to go through life without a nose, right? It makes one’s face look so appealing...
17.1 million dollars raised in 49 days and his contributions went up after the last debate...says more people like Perry than the others. So you have mis-calulated badly. When the MSM is pushing certain people like Romney and Cain...that alone should throw up all kind of Red Flags. When the MSM is attacking someone ever which way...that is the person to support...which is Rick Perry, he is the one who they are MOST afraid of.
A lot of truth to that.
If it comes down to Romney vs. Obama, I will likely vote for Romney just to try to stop a little of the damage that might otherwise be done over the next four years In some ways though, I fear a Romney win will do even more harm to conservatism over the long haul.
He would reform absolutely nothing, the economy would not get meaningfully better, the GOP would get 100% of the blame, and we would be in a much worse position then than we are even now.
