“This is sound bite will destroy him in the general election if he’s the nominee.”

and Perry said that Social Security is a ponzi scheme. If you want someone who will pander to people then Romney is your guy.

As Barry Goldwater once said: “Grow up, conservatives.”

As opposed to Perry's "ponzi" comments? Please.

Sure hope you’re right. I can’t stand the guy and would leave the Rep party if he’s the nominee. He’s a Democrat in Republican clothes (DIRC). Another Chafee.

Cain can win a primary. Heck Pat Buchanan won a primary. I agree, however, that there probably isn’t a real path to the nomination for him.

Just like Perry calling us Heartless, you add to that by also calling us childish - because we like Cain.

Real mature. Insults are not going to win us over, don’t you know.

“Herm Cain is the one up there who doesn’t look like he’s part of that permanent political class. He came from a working class family. He’s had to make it on his own all these years. We respect that. He has an automatic connection with the electorate. We can all relate to him. He knows the issues and problems we face every day and he’s determined to do something about it.”

That NAILS IT!!! So true about Herm Cain. I like him more and more. The vid of him in 1994 assailing Slick WIllie Clinton in the Town Hall Forum was great.

A vote for Perry is (hold your breath now), a VOTE FOR PERRY AND DELEGATES PLEDGED TO HIM AT THE CONVENTION.

A vote for Romney is a VOTE FOR ROMNEY AND DELEGATES PLEDGED TO HIM AT THE CONVENTION.

A vote for Cain is a VOTE FOR CAIN AND DELEGATES PLEDGED TO HIM AT THE CONVENTION.

My how novel an idea.

Really, why do we have to go through these silly games and theorizing and crunching visions of reality long before the first primary voter has even gone into the voting booth.

Just vote your conscience, vote for the best conservative, vote for the one closest to you philosophically and whom you see lacking any major character flaws or heretical votes while in office or major problematic statements (or questionable advisors), and, well be on with the damned thing next year.

Sheesh. It isnt rocket science for pete's sake.

Add to the list the original “I like [Robert A.] Taft, but he can’t win” slogan.

That happens to be a phrase I recalled to those being relentlessly assaulted by the Fare Opinion crowd back in 2003 in an attempt to expose the racket. But it was to no avail since we couldn’t convince site mgt.

I have since found that another writer had done some more homework on the Taft sloganeering. His commentary it is dated back in the days of the recall election too. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0JZS/is_20_19/ai_n25075330/pg_3/

Nope Cain will be getting all the Perry, Newt and Bachman Votes.

Cain is going to win hands down and the liberals at the Washington Post are going nuts. They know that if Cain gets the nomination then Obama is gone.

Romney will run another campaign just like McCain. So if you want another 4 years of Obama then nominate Romney.

No that’s what the Romney supporters hope is the case, but I doubt it.

Romney is McCain 2 which = Obama another 4 years.

At the time it was either Romeny or McCain... as the main two. So I don’t know why you keep bringing this up. Trust me it’s a weak argument....

Now that Obama has passed a National Health Care (which most people hate) that was modeled after Romney Care. That is HUGE WEAPON THE REPUBLICANS can use against the Obama camp. However, if you have Romeny, then Obama is going to look at Romney and say I just modeled it after what you did.

It completely takes out the National Healthcare issue that could used by other Candidates. How can you NOT see that.

If Romney gets the nomination, then it will be McCain 2... Translation Obama gets another 4 years.

“While he’s been a frequent critic of Romney on the trail, he endorsed the tenuous front-runner in 2008.”

Not many are more conservative than Jim DeMint, but he (unwisely) backed Romney.

At what point in time did Cain endorse Romney? I bet it wasn’t at the beginning of the race.

“It’s Myth’s turn, meaning Ubama will get his second term.”

Not really. Rasmussen has a generic GOP candidate ahead of Obama by six points.

Hopefully it won’t be Romney or one of the libertarian candidates, and I don’t think it will.

If it's not Perry, it's Romney, if it's Romney, it's Obama.

Oh, look -- the sun's coming up! Must be time to swing to Perry!

</smoking sarc>

I'll try Cain or Bachmann, thank you very much. Or not.

Reagan is too conservative to get elected. Vote for Bush; he can win!!!

Good memory -- yeah, we hear that stuff year after year, don't we, coming from the Usual Suspects?

Bump for your excellent post! Hiya, Carry.

Negatives: After Texas Legislature passed law to give in-state tuition to children of illegal immigrants, with only four votes against him, he didn’t veto the measure, “to make a statement”, when his veto would have been easily overridden. Foot-in-mouth in the debate — let he/she who never said something they regretted throw the first stone, especially after hours of everyone ganging up on him over one or two issues Are Perry’s negatives so bad that we should rather have Romney walk away with the nomination and then be beaten by Obama? THIS is the real question. Let us take a step back and consider the above.

I want to thank you for all the time and effort expended in your extensive research of all the issues listed in your negatives list.
