Sarah Palin will not run for president. She made the announcement in a letter to supporters Wednesday night.
Read Palins letter here:
October 5, 2011 Wasilla, Alaska After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order.
My decision is based upon a review of what common sense Conservatives and Independents have accomplished, especially over the last year. I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office from the nations governors to Congressional seats and the Presidency. We need to continue to actively and aggressively help those who will stop the fundamental transformation of our nation and instead seek the restoration of our greatness, our goodness and our constitutional republic based on the rule of law....

Cain, of course. Cain, Bachmann and Santorem are the only true conservatives now in the game.
Romney and Perry are RINOs. Real conservatives will not vote for them. Hence, they are unelectable.

Yep, and it looks like a couple of the kids just bought another handful of tickets for the merry-go-round.
Cain/Bachmann would be a one-two punch for the libs: A black and a woman.
And CAIN is fantastic.
There is no reason to rejoice and I am thoroughly disgusted with all the Palin-bashers on this web site who are so misguided as to celebrate this sad event.
Oh, do I wish you rock-throwers would experience the undeserved hatred shown to this wonderful woman and her family.
Those on this site celebrating Palin's announcement are the truly "damaged goods."
1) Good for Sarah. I bet she realized that she would not win the general election and instead will allow an electable conservative to run. It takes a strong character to put aside their personal ambitions to do what is best for their country.
2) If she is really not running for fear of her family, that is a telling reflection on the state of this country and should serve as a wake-up call for all.
3) The reactions of her most ardent supporters are amazing and unsurprising. This is what happens when you put too much faith in one imperfect woman.
4) The stool of conservatism has three complementary legs. They are social conservatism, fiscal conservatism, and national defense conservatism. Her letter reflects a disturbing trend, which is emphasizing fiscal conservatism at the expense of social conservatism and national defense conservatism.
Sorry, but economic issues are the least of our worries right now. Sure, Obama is implementing the worst economic policies in the history of our nation. However, our nation is sill very wealthy. People all over the world still dream about living at the high material standard that we do, and most people who ever set foot on this earth would die to live like the “poorest” among us do. On the other hand, a million of our most innocent are butchered a year in their very own mothers’ wombs, its becoming more and more the case that we are beginning to be forced to pretend that Adam and Steve are married, and the institution of the nuclear family is still in shambles. On the national defense side, suicidal mullahs in Iran are beginning to get nuclear capabilities, a new and better than ever caliphate is potentially forming in the Middle East, the existence of Israel is being put in ever increasing danger, not-so-friendly China is still on the rise, and we have porous borders that our emperor refuses to close. As for miscellaneous issues, our Second Amendment rights are being pried away from us, we have a ridiculous amount of illegal immigrants, people are acting like global warming isn’t a laughable scam, race-relations are being set back decades, and we have a wannabe president in office doing his best to either destroy this nation and/or become dictator of America, caliph, or ruler of the universe.
So yeah, fiscal conservatism is important, and it complements the rest of the conservative platform. But the economy is not the #1, consensus, by-far most important issue right now, and conservatives should stop acting like it is.
I think Cain will pick Newt as a veep or as Chief of staff. I am for Cain too.
Yes they are and moving the primaries is rigging it so a "Reagan" can never rise again.
But they will reap what the sow.
Not a dime or my time, heck I may drop from FR. But worse many will drift further from the RNC and the likes of Ingraham, Kristol, etc the educated ones....This could cause a further devision within the RNC/GOP as we splinter from them and eventually divorce happens...
IMHO I have to agree with a Fr-er, why would she want to be POTUS if it falls apart ( and hard ) soon. Glenn has been awfully ominous the last few days. Maybe Sarah senses it to through prayer, and is preparing to help in other ways....
Do you think Newt would accept VP?
Well said!
I would hope that they'd be celebrating her for announcing that she would be out there supporting conservative candidates.
I didn’t see that reported anywhere. It is just my hunch. She always said she would not run if someone she could get behind were to come to the fore. She also enthusiastically said, “I LIKE Herman Cain!”, when asked about him on one of her Fox appearances. I am dissappointed that she will not run, but I trust her to do what is best for the country.
Let me make something clear.
WE are done with voting for Emperors — of any planet.
If the GOP takes the DOG ABUSER,
TAXER (calling them ‘fees’),
RomneyCARE (by any name) imposer,
BIG-DIG Coveruper, pro-Sharia,
ineligible Romney, then we will work as hard against
the GOP ticket as against the Communist DNC ticket.
ROMNEY IS OBAMA and supported by the same.

Don't know if I could go with that duo...but Newt might be able to put a muzzle on Perry and rein in some of Perry's otherwise unfavorable positions.... and have some degree of leverage if push came to shove...maybe better Newt/Perry?
All I do know is whoever is selected needs to hit the ground running and know the steps to take without messing around having to learn the Washington Landscape. Newt's definately ahead of them all in that respect....and he'd take Obama on easily in a debate....flatten him for sure.
For me it's going to depend on at what juncture our nation is at, and where I see it headed that will be in the equation of how I vote. Also who would seem likely as part of their cabinet...also important. We don't need a re-run of inexpereinced community organisors trying to play the powerful again...and that on the spine of this nation!
yes. newt looks eager to get in the game.
what was that bus tour all about? Ego
I would take them in either combo. I think they compliment each other well. I sincerely believe they would be an incredible team.
Like an apache I’ve run the Palin horse dead and I’m jumping on.....
The Cain Train!
He overlaps with Sarah on 90%+ of the issues anyway.
However, I believe Palin has destroyed her credibility politically due to her waiting so long to make the decision.
She is finished politically I would guess. But, maybe she’ll try something else.
The trust is now pretty much gone. Trust is very difficult to keep after these types of decisions. A lot of people including myself thought she would probably run after the external signs showed she was thinking of running.
But the quiet ‘internal’ signs really were never there.
Great run and great fun while it lasted.
But now, we need to coalesce around probably Herman Cain as the outsider and man to carry the Tea Party torch.
I was thinking the same thing yesterday when I heard that Cain would be at the same event.
An endorsement now from her at that event should catapult Cain to the lead.
Her endorsement later would not have as big an effect due to people moving on.
It would not surprise me if she did that.
If we really supported Jesus Christ, we wouldn't be in the shape we are in.It was never about Palin, but Him. Her decision says more about our country than it does her.
