Well, first let me just say that the novel is by no means meant to build a case against Sarah Palin. However, to the extent that the people around [the fictional vice president] Tara watched in this troubled state of confusion, despair and helplessness as she flailed around that was something I experienced. Palin vacillated between extraordinary highs on the campaign stage she ignited more enthusiasm than our side had seen at any other point to debilitating lows. She was often withdrawn, uncommunicative and incapable of performing even the most basic tasks required of her job as McCain's running mate.
(See the top 10 fiction books of 2010.)
The decision to relocate debate prep from the campaign trail, which is where McCain did his prep, to Sedona, was to isolate her and help her overcome the shock of becoming an overnight celebrity. There certainly were discussions not for long because of the arc the campaign took but certainly there were discussions about whether, if they were to win, it would be appropriate for her to be sworn in.

So then how does the party decide whose name is on the electoral ballots?
it does no good to call Wallace names. She is a political operative who was assigned to Palin by the McCain staff, and like all of them, lives from campaign to campaign. (Why else is that old fart Ed Rollins trying to get out of this ratrace at age 70?) If Ms. Wallace can make more money as a pundit or author, great. She knows she has zero future as a “Palin advisor”.
Wallace and Couric are friends. That should explain anything that comes out of this broads mouth.
Check her adventures....Know before you sew....she’s a slut.
It is not correct to refer to her as a “Palin advisor.” She was a McCain advisor who was and is a strong enemy of Sarah Palin.
Byron York is doing good investigative work on this.
“It’s not clear what the McCain team had in mind. (I’ve sent a note to Wallace asking for more details.) The vice presidency is a constitutional position, and once elected, the president cannot fire the vice president. If McCain wanted to be rid of Palin, he would have had to do that before the election, not after. Of course, as Wallace suggests, the question became moot after the economic crisis hit and McCain’s mishandling of events led to a fatal decline in the polls. But the idea that a presidential nominee’s aides were discussing whether to somehow push an elected vice-president out of office is remarkable.
UPDATE: I just spoke with Charlie Black, who was McCain’s top campaign adviser in the 2008 race. “I never heard any such discussions,” Black told me. “There were no discussions like that with McCain, or I think I would have known about them. That doesn’t mean some subset of the senior staff might have talked to each other about it.”
As for the constitutional issues involved with blocking an elected vice-president from taking the oath of office, Black said, “Whoever was having that discussion, if there was one, didn’t have a good lawyer in the group.”

Those who tweet....should use #chatSS liberally....lol
Only with the scumbags who still don't support Palin; a number that is dwindling rapidly as more and more Amreicans watch "The Undefeated."
America is now by-and-large aware that they were duped about her by the Lamestream Misledia, and the backlash will be formidable come November 2012.
Also, note the up-tick in Anti-Palin attacks taking place as she ramps up for her candidacy announcement. It has all been trotted out and flung at the wall a thousand times now...
... and none of it is sticking to anyone but those doing the throwing.
Just about all over but the voting. President Palin is coming, and she's bringing America with her!
She’s just pushing the book and figured that would help to get in some image like oh heck what was that book about clinton that wasn’t?
I hate gettin old....lol
A bunch of bullshit if you ask me. Just pathetic.
Backstabbing Harpy PING!
Nah the GOP12 is pimping this book....
It’s an all out assault, we want the independents, she has them....GOP was counting on MITT to garner them. Perry won’t either.
Knock it off with the Sterno.
I said my peace at that facebook link.....I encourage abuse....lol
Why in the world would you call that woman a vulgar name?
State your point without cheap personal shots.
Thanks.
Actually it is vulgar. It’s not a word that I use.
Only probably a slut, we don’t know for sure... There is a cottage industry of defamation surrounding Palin. The fact that Wallace wrote a book that basically changes a few adjectives from what she experienced shows a lack of imagination. I suspect that those still standing by Palin are able to do so because they are made of the same sort of stuff she is made of: STEEL.
However since it obviously irritates you both what would you suggest we use that describes her as well?
