Sarah Palin-affiliated law firm made early-state deadline inquiries
Politico ^

Posted on 10/04/2011 2:41:20 PM PDT by Scythian

Ken Vogel and I both have sources telling us that calls were made on behalf of a mystery candidate to various early states to determine presidential filing deadlines. Continue Reading

The calls were made by representatives of the law firm Baker Hostetler - a firm that employs lawyer Mark Braden, who represents Sarah PAC, her political action committee.

As Ken notes, while he nor representatives of Palin’s campaign would comment on the calls, Palin is the only GOP politician eying the presidential race who is represented by the firm.

The current thinking in GOP election law circles is that the first hard cut-off for entering the race is Oct. 28, when presidential candidates who hope to appear on the ballot in the New Hampshire primary would be required to submit a filing fee from a federally registered presidential campaign committee.

Of course they were pushing Christie, they see him as more to the left then Romney. I have nothing against Christie, its not his fault the media kept on fawning over him. The elitist media hates Sarah Palin, Fox News hates Sarah Palin, to hear Perino today call her a quitter and have everyone else laugh was absolutely disgusting. Perino is the last one to laugh at anyone..during her tenure in the Bush Administration didnt the left always call her an idiot, yet she has no issues poking fun at Palin, who has always been on the side of the GOP

Was that on the 5 at 5 show? I didn't see it, but would have been disgusted by what you observed. I can't wait for the day when all those phony, two-faced, plastic goof-balls get the proverbial teeth knocked down their throats. I welcome a Sarah Palin candidacy. She may not be the most eloquent, most polished, even her voice grinds on me a bit, but by golly, IMHO, she's honest, has integrity, can't be bought, and LOVES AMERICA! GO SARAH! RUN! RUN SARAH RUN!!!!!

Just watched it with my wife, the born skeptic. She was glued to her seat to the end, couldn’t believe there were people like Sarah out there, people like her that love America and want to do the right thing because it is the right thing to do.

Run Sarah Run!

I have to remain a bit cynical as well...

Aren’t these inquiries pretty basic time frame questions that anyone serious would have known long ago? And does it really take a law firm to be privy to this basic public info?

If she’s in, I too will donate as much as possible. I’m waiting for her. Another Freeper Login n’ Reason posted this a few weeks ago and it’s worth repeating:

Mrs. Palin is remaining quiet....she is waiting....she knows her battle plan....she knows her timing.....she is learning....studying the opposition....guarding the “cubs”....waiting quietly with an occasional “roar” (like the comments at the Iowa State Fair).....reconnoitering the challengers from within and the enemY from without.....studying weaknesses....building and conserving her strength....endlessly practicing....reading...honing her skills.....waiting.....waiting.....
This war has not yet begun. What has been seen of the other candidates to date has been nothing but minor and irrelevant skirmishing. Candidates in...candidates out....candidates winning....candidates losing.....candidates saying silly things.....candidates saying cogent, insightful things....

It is a very very long way to next November. There is no need to rush. In her mind’s eye, Mrs. Palin smiles knowingly and remembers the words of Napolean, “Never interupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.” and General Patton, “Our basic plan of operation is to advance and to keep on advancing regardless of whether we have to go over, under, or through the enemy. We are going to go through him like crap through a goose; like shit through a tin horn!”

When she arrives, you can count on total war. She has learned how to fight. She does not spin; she does not back away from principles; she means exactly what she says...and says exactly what she means. She builds a base of support because of who and what she is....not because of who or what she panders to.
Patience.....patience....
Wait for it!
And keep the faith....

Yeah thats the one, called The Five. I mean I expect that kind of idiocy from Bob Beckel, he is a flaming lib, of course he doesn’t want Sarah Palin to run, he laughs but its a nervous laughter, if he really thought she was irrelevant and stood no chance he would be begging for her to run..Dana Perino, well, she is an ass..saying that her support has dwindled next to nothing, please..that is why she is only five points behind Obama if the election were today, dwindling support my butt

No, deadlines have been changing, because primary dates have been changing.

I forget what the individual max is, but that’s what my husband and I gave when she was announced as VP candidate and we’ll do it again if she runs. We’ve only seen Sarah once in person—but she is one awesome, real woman! She speaks to me—she says exactly what I’m thinking—and I think that is how she affects a lot of women.

Ditto on West, although I really don’t think he’s seriously contemplating a run - not this time around anyway.

As for Gov. Palin; My take is that I didn’t really think she’d run, but she seems to enjoy playing games with the establishment and media’s heads - which I’d say she is doing quite entertainingly well.

Of course she might have been waiting to see how the Candidates were going to sort themselves out before she gets in when and where it is most to her advantage. That way she will have avoided all the potential pitfalls of the previous debates - traps which Perry and to some extent Bachmann seem to have stepped on and fallen in to.
Perry is going to have a very tough time digging himself out of the hole he currently inhabits.

Sarah knows what it’s like to be led into a trap (remember Katie Kouric?) and I think she will be very wary of them should she choose to give politics another go.

I suspect she might have read up on Sun Tzu, and learned from him well. She’s biding her time, treading lightly, and keeping down wind of her quarry.

We might be watching an expert Huntress at work here.
Will she take her shot or let it pass for another day?
Is her scope dialed in this time?
If so I doubt she’ll miss her mark.

Now the sound of a Palin/West ticket has a definite attraction to it.
This might get even interestinger.

Stay tuned!

I sure hope this woman runs.

She's 100% right on every issue and the best retail politician of the 21st century so far.

But, I hear women don't like her...and them feminine fellers too.
