President Barack Obama sharply rebuked his Republican rivals Saturday, saying anyone who wants to be commander in chief must support the entire U.S. military, including gay service members.
A combative Obama criticized Republican presidential candidates for staying silent when the crowd at a recent debate booed a gay soldier who asked a question of the contenders via videotape.
"You want to be commander in chief? You can start by standing up for the men and women who wear the uniform of the United States, even when it's not politically convenient," Obama said during remarks at the annual dinner of the Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest gay rights organization.
Referencing the boos at the Sept. 22 Republican debate, he said: "We don't believe in standing silent when that happens."
Obama touted his administration's efforts to repeal the military's ban on openly gay service members, as well as his orders to the Justice Department to stop enforcing a law defining marriage as between one man and one woman...

Imagine yourself in the common shower with one.
Consider having the guy next to you in a foxhole worrying more about a special friend down the line than you.
Contemplate possible favoritism, a la females on the “Love Boat” in the first Gulf War, by a “pink Mafia” regarding promotions and cushy jobs.
Think about the creation of a new “protected species” in the military. You know Orwell’s “some animals are more equal than others”.
Apply all of the above to discipline, unit cohesion and accomplishment of mission. The military is NOT a social science laboratory.
I to find solace in the sadness of those attacking my military. Gay behavior is an abomination, most warfighters were against this. Sadly it was the want to be warriors in the Navy and Air Force that were on the fore front of pushing this on the military. Anyone surprised by the hatred lives in a bubble. You can force tolerance in public but you can never force acceptance.
Leave it to the homosexual agenda and a compliant jackass
for a president to turn our kicka$$ military into a band
of merry men.
Obama's a pussy and a wimp...
I think you have mistaken this site for GayRepublic.com - move on troll!
The thing is gays are allowed to marry, they are just restricted (in most paces) from marrying someone of the same gender.
If you isolate gay marriage and gay military service into a single issue, on the surface it appears pretty benign. The issue I have with it is that at every turn the demands for “gay rights” is undermining the rights of every other indivudual around them. That causes serious issues for the First Amendement rights of everyone who is not gay.
There are quite a few sources which detail that the effectiveness of militaries that allow openly gay people to serve has not been diminished:

Adults and childrens have been in contact with gay people before. No casaulties have been reported.
With the elimination of DADT, do you think the atmosphere in a barracks will become more or less sexually charged?
I’m not Christian so I do not really worry about the Christian interpretation of homosexuality.
Well, he has plenty of his own butt buddies...so what would one expect from this illegal living in our WH. IF the media had done their job in exposing him...we’d not be having this conversation today.
Homosexual men are not sex-craved deviants who seek to convert straight men to their cause:

Not a big surprise. But to be looked down upon by an individual so filled with hate, makes me happy again :)
One doesn’t have to be Christian to be influenced by God’s interpretation of homosexuality.
That is true, but my opinion of homosexuality is thoroughly distinct to that found in Christianity.
If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.
Not a Christian, so that quote is meaningless to me.
But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 10:33
