I hope Gov. Rick Perry enjoyed his six week run as the front runner of the GOP field, because it's now over. Perry has had three debates. His first was mediocre. His second debate performance was weaker than his first, and last nights debate was worse than either of the first two. He comes across as unprepared, sometimes unsteady, and at times his answers border on being incoherent. And his stand on illegal immigration will hurt him with the GOP base. A lot of conservatives rallied to Perry based on what they assumed he was, having seen him hardly at all.

THAT’s FOR SURE. Maybe Perry needs to stay in just to keep Mitt running rings around the same Ole’ issues they use in the debates, your book, my book, etc. While all the others talk real issues.

Prior to Perry’s entrance into the race, the entire field was playing it nice with each other. Nobody went after Romney.
I sincerely know what you are saying. I really do. However, we don’t need to bash Romney. He is an idiot and everyone knows it. Perry was never vetted and now he is. He is having trouble with debates and making statements that are insulting. I truly believe that he needs to learn from this experience and come back in 2020 to run after Palin. He will be ready to go then. It is not easy to run for President and I do believe that Perry thought it was going to be a piece of cake. He is getting the school of hard knocks thrown at him and he needs to have it. Obama is not going to be nice to any body who is our candidate. We need a guy who is ready for prime time and Perry is not ready yet.....give it 8 years and he will be. One thing though.....he better change his immigration stance though.
If the American public keep him at number one after he insulted them than they deserve what they get. Obama and Perry have some similarities for sure. I know Obama said middle Americans cling to their Bible and guns. However, Perry said that we are heartless for not supporting the illegal aliens. Not much difference as far as being insulted. I know that it is difficult when you support someone so badly to ignore the facts but come one......he is everything that the Tea Party is against with regards to immigration. He is the ONLY candidate to get booed. How embarrassing for him for sure. I really feel for you, but you have to look at things from an unbiased look.
I don’t think anyone supported Romney until it was down to about three candidates.....Romney, Huckster and McCain. With those three terrible choices who should we have supported? I mean what an awful choice.

That is the dumbest post ever. The two of them stink. We have great conservative candidates in the running. It never should have been the two RINOs being in front. It was ridiculous and FINALLY FREEPERS are waking up to the fraud that is Perry. Bachmann, Cain, Santorum, Palin are the most conservative in the group. Instead of trying to push RINO Perry down our throats than we would be better off. Now all FREEPERS need to drop Perry and start supporting one of the four left. Cain or Palin would be an excellent choice for us to get behind as a GROUP!!!
I was never a Romney fan but right now Gallop and other polls show him as the ONLY GOP candidate who beats Obama.
I think it's fair to say that Rove wasn't only talking debate, he was doing the establishment "thingy" on Perry. We all know WHY Karl doesn't like Perry...he out-smarted Rove! I can't stand Karl "Romney Lovin'" Rove!
Perino is as bad and as consistent, as well, with the establishment line of praising Mitt "I've Been Running for POTUS Most of My Adult Life" Romney.
Frankly, it doesn't bother me they are on Perry's case...what bothers me is they are getting paid well to preach the elitist line.

The one thing I am 99.999 percent sure about is that Romney will not be the nominee. Way too many people find him phony and not just us. I believe that somebody who is not even involved yet will be the nominee.....I am not necessarily saying Palin but it will be someone that the Tea Party picks. The Tea Party has been awfully quiet lately which is sorta weird.
Oh yes, and God knows we can trust what Gallop is telling us. Why, they are almost as reliable as CNN.
Good summary. Perry fans should be able to tell a real conservative from a guy in the tank for the illegal lobby and who believes in law by executive fiat rather than thru the legislative process. And even worse, is incapable of coherently articulating his views on any issue.
