Perry committed Hara Kiri (self-immolation) last night, wooden, bumbling, pandering, almost incoherent. After all the splashy PR he's gotten here for the past month, his supporters have a lot of 'splainin' to do........

We’re getting a bit Alinsky around these parts, this morning.
How about we keep it on the high road?

I am one who defended Perry from some of the ludicrous attacks, but held my reservations over his stance on immigration, HPV, etc.
I thought he was the best compromise candidate we had, but his debate performance is attrocious!!!!
I cringed with his every response. He bumbles worse than anyone I have seen and he strays all over.

The only argument the Perrybots have left is "Vote for our guy or you get Mitt Romney by default." To which I shrug "So what? We'd be getting him anyway if we vote for youor guy."
Swap their constituencies and you'd swap their records. One loves open borders, one loves socialized medicine. It is a pretty academic argument as to which is worse for America.

Only political junkies believe anything described here is important to the average voter or will make a difference in who wins the nomination.
As long as a candidate of Perry’s stature (or Romney’s)doesn’t make a HUGE gaffe it won’t matter. Errors in syntax or speech stumbling is a non event and will be forgotten in a matter of hours.

Perry made G.W. Bush sound like a Shakespearean actor by comparison. He insulted tens of millions of Americans with his pathetic 'heart' line and then stumbled and bumbled his way through the rest of the debate, and then lied about a cancer victim inspiring his Gardisil order, when he met her not only AFTER the order, but after it had been overturned by the legislature.
THIS is the Obama-defeater? You've got to be kidding.

As a (former) Perry advocate, I don't think the delivery was what was "cringe-worthy," I think the fact that he chose to use that tack at all was cringe-worthy.
Michelle is right, that Romney's history of flip-flopping is a potent weapon with which to attack him, but it was completely inappropriate to the moment and the topic. It was a clear moment of Perry saying "Well, I don't have a good answer to your attack on this topic, but look over here everybody--a bunny with a pancake on its head."
When a person in a debate chooses to deflect to that degree, they are admitting that they just got their butts kicked.
I do agree that it was Perry's most cringe-worthy moment, in fact it was at that point in the debate that I got up stopped watching the debate.

Perry has the most work to do. He's the former demonrat and he has to convince Republicans, especially conservative Republicans, that the word 'former' is accurate.
But, there's something more subtle he has to address. He follows GWB, largely ridiculed on the left and then by the center of being a stoopid, frat boy from Texas.
And then, along comes Perry...

I can’t bear to watch that twice. My first impression of Perry was that he was weak on defense and likely had a glass jaw.
Last night he proved I was an optimist.
Last night, Perry bit down on his glass jaw and chewed it up on national television.

Oh good grief. Michelle Malkin the idiot that lectured that if we even comment on the birth certificate we ‘look’ like fringe. Screw her.
And NO, Perry did not commit Hari Kari, but he definitely needs a debate coach. He’s not a glib smoothe talking slick con man like Mitt, or even Michelle Bachmann, who is lying through her teeth with her attacks on Merck and Gardasil. And she’s going to have to be exposed. Perry’s team should’ve taken care of that last night. Newt’s a teacher and a trained communicator of information. I love Newt but you can’t trust him with the money.

It's bad enough Perry's incoherent, inarticulate, mumbles, and utters some really dumb non sequiturs, but he does it all with that goofy (drug-induced?) grin on his face.
That might go over big in cattle country, now somebody ought to tell Perry he's not in Texas anymore.

I wasn't really happy with any of Perry's answers last night.
He looks stiff and talks incoherently, when he's not calling us names, that is. He sure didn't stumble on that one!
He's imploding.

If you watch a rerun of the debate keep your eyes on Perry’s hands.
When he is on solid ground and confident of his position he is very outgoing and expressive; he becomes animated and his hands fly all around emphasizing his words.
When he is uncertain or on thin ice his demeanor becomes reserved; he seems to shrink behind the podium, his hands remain on the podium top, he locks his fingers together and he fidgets around with his thumbs and fingers.

What is wrong with Rick Perry? I mean, c’mon man, how long has he been in politics now? Has he always been this nervous and a bad debater? I was for him, now I’m hoping against hope that SP gets in.
I just don’t get how he could have got this far with the way he was trippin all over his lips last night. So disappointed. Tell ya what, I won’t be watching the debates if he’s the nominee, I’d just cry watchin him, dang

Mitt made Perry look like an azz hat.
And I’m no Mitt supporter either.
This is gonna sound like I’m on a high horse but i’ll say it anyway.......
Those of us from TX have been warning those of you (Perry riders) NOT from TX, that Perry has warts and immigration was the BIGGEST of them all.
Can you hear me now???
Do you believe us now???
Bachman is correct. Fences work. They are not fool proof, but done right they are a tremendous force multiplier.
Perry knows this too. That’s why he and his cheap labor lovin $$$$ donors in Texas don’t want a fence. It slows down the supply of cheap labor.
Have a great day..... Flame away!
