American Thinker ^ | Sept 22, 2011 | Brian T. Carter

"Venture Socialism" Perry Style! In Texas, bio-tech firm Convergen LifeSciences looks a lot like Governor Rick Perry's Solyndra. Governor Perry manages the Emerging Technology Fund (ETF), providing financial support to companies developing new technology in the hope of creating high-tech jobs. First created in 2005, ETF is made up of regional panels that screen proposals for a statewide advisory panel (all appointed by Perry). ETF dispersed $342 million through August 2010....Read more to understand the full stench of this Crony Capitalism love story.

Well, 10’s of millions of dollars have been spent to divide and conquer Republicans...and people have bought into this garbage hook, line and sinker. IF folks can be this dumb they deserve Obama again for 4 years so they’ll have no America left. IF they don’t wise up soon...let us wave goodbye to America.

Oh puhleze. Texas is run better than the majority of the states during the 0bama depression.

It beats following a fracking nutcase loon.

I have noticed that Perry's most vocal supporters are women who have said he is handsome, has great hair, etc.

So are Romney's (plus his LDS groupies).

There’s still a sense of ‘void’ in the primary phase of this current campaign with the existing candidates, much like in ‘96 and ‘08 primaries, when Dole and McCain each ultimately won.

I will say this, though, if Palin does get in, there will be three very distinct top choices to chose from. The one who gets into the top 30’s (35% and up) in support will carry the day.

And those hoping for Palin have yet to see the half of what will happen to her if she enters the race.”

Well, I can’t imagine anyone who’s got anything else left out there to hit her with, but if they do, she can take it. I KNOW I will not wake up and see her signing some piece of shit legislation with Bawney Fwank cheering in the background. I’m so tired of these gutless, in it for themselves corrupt bastards, this change had better come soon or MY head will explode. Or my heart. It’ll be a close race.

It's best we vett the potential GOP candidates before the Dems and the media does.

Another Perry fangirl credo - Anyone who criticizes St. Rick is doing the work of Omama, Axelrod, the left (choose your favorite).

I disagree. They've already used everything they've got. The latest hit piece is nothing more than a rehash of the Alaskan ankle-biting bloggers ridiculous, unsourced, and totally made up rumors and gossip. If they've stooped that far, they're out of ammo -- everything we see will just be recycled.

The Real Story:

There is just WAY too much Government at all levels playing Venture Capitalist with our money shoveling it at questionable start-up firms, all in the name of “creating jobs” (green or otherwise)

There isn’t any background information on the author at all. NONE, no education, work history, affiliations etc.

That is odd. No biography at all? So is it a real person or a pseudonym? Very interesting question...

All this does is help obama. Way over the top in my opinion. Perry has been governor for a long time and this forum has always held up Texas as a free state. Bottom line - if they knock out Perry they will be stuck with Romney or Obama for four more.

You are wrong about that. She will sink like a rock when she steps in. It will be all down hill.

So are Romney's (plus his LDS groupies).

Makes sense. Perry & Romney are both RINOs so it stands to reason their RINO followers would have similarities.

I guess I misunderstood what the Tea Party stood for — either that, or there are some far right Libertarians taking it over and redefining it. I believed the Tea Party existed to encourage people to vote for fiscally conservative candidates. From the way you (and others on FR) are ranting about what I consider “irrelevant” issues (I’m sure you’re going to jump on THAT word), one would think you prefer to keep Obama in office so he can further destroy the country - at least until a sufficiently pure candidate arises like a phoenix and leads your group into the promised land of a Third-Party.

If you’re in the Tea Party and this ISN’T what you believe, please speak up! I’m beginning to think I’m just a fiscally and socially conservative Republican rather than a Tea Party sympathizer.

Convergen isn't Perry's Solyndra.

Thrombovision is Perry's Solyndra.

Amazing that we have our pick of shady business deals with this guy, eh? These are just the ones we know about. I can't imagine what the Dems will dig up if this guy gets the nomination somehow.

I have no problem vetting candidates as long as it’s factual. I do have a problem with hit pieces which it seems it’s what this is.
