If they hadn’t passed Obamacare, and raised the minimum wage, we would have more jobs

You've got to be kidding me. You write an article for Fox News and you come here to pimp an article you wrote and could post here in its entirety? Geez, I guess we oughta cut you some slack since you just signed up here yesterday.

I suppose I could say that my job has been saved, since I still have it. And that would likely be about all that is necessary in the mind of Obama’s economists to count it.

(And don’t pay attention to the cadre of folks with broken mice who feel entitled to read everything on the interweb here and here alone. As if FR would even exist were it not for the rest of the Internet.)

I’m in the airplane manufacturing business and who save my job was George W. Bush.

Prior to 9/11 the Airlines were not doing well at all and were flying many routes half empty. (All four 9/11 aircraft were flying less that half full). Airlines were canceling orders and layoffs were digging deeper and deeper into the ranks. Then 9/11 happened, and we went through a couple of more dark years, but all of a sudden it started to turn around and in a very big way. Within a few years (still under Bush) airlines were once again at capacity, and airlines were once again standing in line to order more aircraft. The layoffs ended and many of those let go returned. We would have never dreamed it was possible just a few years earlier.

My job has been saved simply because I was able to maintain my productivity and take on the added productivity of the two people who once sat on either side of me.

Why do we always cede the language? It happens every single time and it is extremely frustrating and infuriating. The first guy to say "saved" jobs should have been ridiculued and laughed off the stage. The finger pointing should not have stopped until the red faced culprit was cornered crying and begging for forgiveness for his folly. Instead we have lost yet another battle in thought for the word has been allowed and now people will accept as reasonable a premise which we all know to be false.

The only way to win a logical argument when you are wrong is to use a false premise.
