During Obama's first two years in office, he passed five stimulus/jobs bills. If you add up the promises, he boldly promised something well over 5.5 million jobs "created or saved." But reality turned out very differently: there are now 2 million fewer people working than when the first Stimulus passed. On top of that, the number of jobs should have increased as the country’s population has grown by almost 5 million. Population growth by itself should have generated more than 3 million new jobs.
President Obama claims that instead of our economy being short of over 5 million jobs, things would have been even worse without his policies. We would have lost 10.5 million jobs without all his spending. No matter how bad the job numbers get, Obama points to some hypothetical economic meltdown that was avoided by his policies. Thus, no evidence whatsoever, no matter how bad, can be used against him.
With all the different “Stimulus” and “jobs” programs, it is hard to remember all the promises and to keep track of where all the money has gone. . . .

Just curious. Another here says the JohnRLott is from 2007 yet you sign up for JohnLott yesterday? Why? Your deal with Fox is your business, but this is odd.....BTW, I did read your article and don’t disagree with it. However, anyone with a brain can surmise that the jobs he promised versus the jobs he delivered are two different stories - all you have to do is look around and listen to all the ‘unexpected’ rises for this bad statistic or that - I don’t need to be led to Fox to find that out.
We know exactly who he is. But being on the right side doesn’t give anybody (except the owner) carte blanche on sidebar abuse.

My job has been saved simply because I was able to maintain my productivity and take on the added productivity of the two people who once sat on either side of me.
I can certainly appreciate all the attention given to a comment from me about the oddness of this and the fact that I didn’t like being drawn to a site for an article that the authored posted himself after having signed up the day before.
With due respect to other Freepers, my comments were to the original poster. I voiced my plaint and heard back from the poster and asked a futher question to which I’ve not yet heard a response. Case done. Whether I’m churlish, an oaf, rude, or an idiot who doesn’t know who conservative John R. Lott is, I don’t really care. Links are deceptive and having to venture to them is an exercise in electronic promiscousness. There! Done. This is over. I’m done here on this thread - don’t bother.

I couldn’t remember the password for the johnrlott account. I tried several times to have a password emailed to my email address, but I never received any response (indeed I still haven’t) so I set up a temporary account with another email address. If you had responded to my requests, it wouldn’t have been necessary for me to set up the johnlott account. If you are suggesting that I just shouldn’t have posted anything, I will stop posting.
