How Palin could beat Obama now
World Net Daily ^ | September 18, 2011 | Joseph Farah

Posted on 09/19/2011 11:53:03 AM PDT by clove

Lots of folks are still wondering whether Sarah Palin is going to jump into the 2012 Republican presidential campaign.

But if she really wants to make history, I have a bigger and better idea for her.

First of all, let's explore her options.

If Sarah Palin ran as a Republican candidate in a crowded field, she might win. Then again, she might not. She would be a late entry. Much of the big money needed to win is already committed. She would add some excitement to the GOP race, but she might not stand out all that much.

Only one Republican is going to get to face off with Barack Obama in 2012, and I can hardly count the number of contenders for that opportunity right now. She'd be a frontrunner for sure, but her tea-party base is already eyeing other candidates.

However, there is something Sarah Palin could do right now that would be truly radical – and, at the very least, bloody Barack Obama so badly he wouldn't have a hope of beating the Republican nominee.

What's that?

Brace yourself for a crazy idea.

Sarah Palin should reregister as a Democrat and announce her intention of seeking the Democratic Party nomination in 2012 over Barack Obama!

Crazy? I told you it was crazy.

It is a crazy idea. Are Democrats going to be falling all over themselves to vote for Palin? She isn’t liberal enough for that.

Has Joseph Farah sustained a head injury lately?

I guess the idea could possibly work if she ran as an Independent, but as a Democrat? Not a chance.

I think Charles Manson would get more Democrat votes.

Absolutely, Joe. Great idea.

Admit you can’t win by being the nominee of your own party. Smashing idea.

Rush said Ron Paul or John Huntsman should do it.

Dr. Paul would be perfect!

ROFL Joseph. That's one scenario not even in the minds of anyone else.

Sarah can do it the right way if she'd just say the words we want to hear. But you're running out of time dear. Time to fish or cut bait.

I guess every now and then when writing a column you get a hair-brained idea and for some reason or another run with it.

In this case it makes me wonder if Farrah isn't smoking weed. Probably so.

Yup. Farah's a loon. Sad, because once upon a time WND seemed decent, then it turned into a loopy conspiracy site. It's pretty much World Birther Daily now, with some dopey commentary such as this article thrown in.

If I had known it was Farah, I wouldn’t have bothered clicking the link.

If the objective was just to harm Obama, this might work — in fact, I suggest that Trump do this very thing rather than consider running as a Republican. If all you want to do is (figuratively) bloody Obama in a primary, it’s a great idea.

But if the objective is actually winning the Presidency, it won’t work. The primaries/caucuses essentially don’t matter, the Democrat candidate is effectively chosen by the super-delegates, who are assigned by interest group, and you can be sure the party will make sure their interest groups are “thinking right”.

Perfect plan for the Mittster! Hey, if a former Dem like Perry can run as a Repub, why not have a marginal Repub run as a Dem?

Let Sarah and Rick fight it out for the kewpie doll while Mittsie grabs the tarnished brass ring.
