Backyard Skeptics, the group that has put up billboards in O.C., say they want to point out what they call immoral acts in the Bible.

Members of a grassroots atheist group say they will tear out pages of the Bible at the Huntington Beach pier Saturday to point out what they say is immorality in the book many Christians base their faith on. Backyard Skeptics members plan to rip out pages with specific passages of the Bible that they say portray immoral biblical law, organizers say.

Big deal. It’s not like we’re going to cut their heads off for this. Let’s see them try it with a koran.

I’m not impressed. They need to prove to me that they aren’t just a bunch of tutu wearing, commie sissies dripping in KY. Rip up some pages to the Koran!

As opposed to all those moral decisions that atheist governments (and individuals) make?

Song of Solomon? ; )

Seems to me most of the fornicating mentions were there as a “kids, don’t try this at home” thing. (case in point, King David)

These people are Fail.
What? Are we suppose to go into a blind beheading rage at the very thought of a bible being torn up? We are better than the mooselimbs. Let ‘em. BFD.

There’s a guy there at the Pier almost every weekend who debates all comers against the existence of God.

Will they rip out the verses in Genesis where the men of Sodom said to Lot “Bring out the men [angels] that went in [your home] with you, so that we may “know” them.”

Do they consider those Sodomites to be immoral?

Remember, before the 2 angels even went into Sodom, Genesis chapter 13 said that the Sodomites were “exceedingly wicked.”

What were those men in Sodom (before the angels arrived) doing that was “exceedingly wicked” and/or immoral?

Have it non-believers. LOL

It’s part of the stimulus program.

Every Bible you rip will be reprinted for others to hear the word of God.

No one is offended by your antics anymore.

I think we’ve all grown up and are more than comfortable with our faith and the strength of our faith bouys us.

We still Love You and so does God.

God will straighten them out; better for them that He does so before they shuffle off this mortal coil.

"Backyard Skeptics, the group that has put up billboards in O.C., say they want to point out what they call immoral acts in the Bible."

I will be convinced of the sincerity of Backyard Skeptics when they accord the same treatment to The Koran.

What are they relying on as their moral standard, when judging the Bible?

If they have no higher authority than their own brains, then how can they claim anything is 'immoral'? Couldn't another atheist take a position 180 degrees the opposite of their own and it would be just a valid in a universe that has no purpose? Why should anyone respect their ideas on morality if our minds are all simply the result of chance processes? Atheism is so morally incoherent.

Sounds like they’re starved for attention. Of course as has already been pointed out on this thread, let them try this stunt with a Koran and they’ll definitely get some attention!
