HYATTSVILLE, Md. — Michelle Obama says a pledge by the Olive Garden, Red Lobster and four other restaurant chains to serve healthier meals is a "breakthrough moment" for the industry.

The Darden restaurant company pledged Thursday to reduce calories and sodium by 20 percent over 10 years. It will also make a fruit or vegetable side dish and low-fat milk standard with kids' meals. If a child wants French fries, an adult will have to ask for them.

The ten year nonsense time frame. That's the same trick that politicians use.

The ten year nonsense time frame.

That's my problem. I am always vowing to lose 20 pounds over the next 10 years and it just seems that at the end of the 10 years what do you know, I have not only NOT lost 20 pounds but I somehow have GAINED 20 pounds!

I will never support any Obama in thier effors to use their liberal ideals to control Americans. I don’t need Mrs Obamas advice. If she wants to give speeches to underclass neghborhoods, then go there and do it. Stop trying to impose that view on the rest of us. We got along before the Obamas and we’ll get along better when their gone.

As for Darden, well, supporting these megalomaniacs and their marxist ideas is the worst thing anyone can do. Heavy refutation is the only answer to these power mad pigs. I will not spend another dime at a Darden restaurant, ever. I will write them and tell them so. I know it won’t make a damned bit of difference to them, since they are probably as leftist as the Obamas, but it is my duty to fight for what’s right using the limited legal tactics I have.

You want fries... with that?

You... talking to me?

Yeah, I am, but if you want fries with that... Ms. Obama's says I gotta see your ID to know you are over 21 and a doctor's statement saying you are of sound mind and have a level of cholesterol that would allow you to eat them without impairing your health.

Fugetaboutit! I'll got next door... to Hooters!

Welcome to Hooters! If you wish fries with that... I'll need to see you ID and--

I have an empty feeling... about Michelle's way.

And I'm not too crazy... about her hubby's jobs bill either!

I wonder what the age cut off is. Does it only apply to the kiddie menu? Will a driver’s license soon be required?

A dietary rating system for every item served?

Since when has parental permission be required of purchase of ANY food?

I can see defaulting to not-fries if not otherwise requested, but if some kid walks in wanting fries (and can pay) don’t say “we can’t give you them because your parent/guardian isn’t here to give approval”. Big difference.
