Perry still dominating national primary, up 13 on Romney

Where do you think the millions it takes to win a presidency come from?
It’s also clear Perry benefitted greatly from the attack on him for the Gardasil thing. Seems Bachmann hurt herself by suggesting Crony Capitalism charge when the “payoff” was a measly $5,000 to Perry’s campaign. And when she kept bleating on about the mandate (which is true, and it is wrong) she failed to note the Opt Out provision. Bachmann getting humiliated by the Mental Retardation claim doesn’t exactly help her either.
This whole Gardasil nonsense was totally ginned up by Michelle Malkin as a way to pummel Perry in her blog column. This time Malkin screwed it up, thinking her “weapon” for Perry would do him in, when it was in fact a pop-gun. Seems poor Bachmann fell into that trap, relying on the Malkin gin up as something iron-clad legitimate, which it isn’t. And I see Malkin has taken it off the main page of her site, leaving her ginned-up debacle to rot away in her archives. Somebody send Malkin a Xanax. Maybe she’ll stop her endless ankle-biting for every small thing she finds to complain about against everybody.
I think a poll conducted prior to the 9/12 Tea Party debate is not breaking news. Putting it in breaking news seems to be confusing folks who are posting on this thread and obviously believing it’s a post-debate poll. Maybe you could consider taking it out of breaking news?
You totally nailed him! That snake! Did you see how Perry approached the dude from BOA soliciting financial support? Oh wait. I didn’t see that. Did you see him give the super secret handshake and tell the bank dude he’s totally on board? Yeah, I didn’t see that either.
I just saw a gentleman shaking the hand of a supporter at a mixer in spite of what the man said.
You obviously are supporting another Republican. That’s great. But please don’t feed the liberals in case Perry ends up being our nominee. Do you want us to lose another election? Really?
It was a poll just released today, the most recent poll of the race.’
We won't know that until poll results come in from after the debate. This poll is from before the debate.
Ima walk up to Obama and say, “hey, I’m from Free Republic, and we’re behind you good buddy.” Then watch the liberals scatter like rats. lol
what’s really funny is, he started a whole new thread with his evidence!
ROFL!
I am so happy! I was afraid these debates might of hurt Perry -- I feel very heartened now.
That you don't see the gross contradiction in those two statements speaks volumes as to why and how you could be a RINO Mitt Perry supporter.
You must have watched a different debate than me. To me, Perry looked the worst and the most phony up there, next to Huntsman, and his smirking and irritating demeanor reminded me of Al Gore in a debate where he sighed.
I watched the Frank Luntz focus group interviews from after the debate about their reactions, and they were very impressed with Perry and downright hated Romney. They were also very impressed with Newt.
Rick Perry: Nature’s Viagra!
Didn’t this same poll have Obama beating Perry by double digits?
I almost have no dog in this fight. I will vote for all but Paul. I admire Perry being combative and telling it like he sees it on all issues, but stuff like social security will just be twisted against him.
It’s also pretty comical watching Romney of all people try to prove that Perry is not a real conservative.
Hello? This poll was taken before monday night's debate.
He is a fighter and will defend himself when it is necessary. Attacking a fellow Republican to the degree we saw against him...should help you grasp what his method was.
Perry allowed those attacking him to show the audience what lunatics they are. Santorum and Bachmann both proved what disgusting political hacks they are. Rush says Mittens can't beat Perry...he has to have others do that since Mittens records suck so badly.
Incumbents usually lead in the polls until the issue is truly joined and the electorate thinks about it, which happens to coincide with the debates. There has never been a debate performance that made the difference in a presidential nomination battle, or in a general election.
Reagan made the difference in NH in 1980 by claiming the microphone at a debate, but that was outside the debate format, so it doesn’t really count as part of a debate performance.
Politics junkies like to talk about Reagan’s “There you go again moment.” Did it affect the election — almost certainly not. The impression Reagan left with the electorate had very little to do with that moment and in general, he was a dreadful debater. Trends held up for Gerald Ford after his classic gaffe about how Poland was free.
You just go right on believing in the importance of debate technique along with the Easter Bunny and the Great Pumpkin. Whatever floats your boat. But if you keep expecting debate performances to have real world effects you’re going to be disappointed.
Newt had a good performance.
So. You believe that if someone walks up to you in public and says he will help you that you are in his pocket.
Pathetic, and probably a set up. Oh...and there is no such thing as a “high level ceo”. And I am sure that the CEO of B of A is nowhere on theat tape.
