Palin even went as far as to lend her voice to the charge leveled by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) during the debate against Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R): That he allowed a law to go though requiring HPV vaccinations for adolescent girls because of a $5,000 campaign donation and his relationship with his former chief of staff, who went on to lobby for a pharmaceutical company.
"I knew there was something to it," Palin said of learning while she was Alaska's governor that her Texas counterpart had given the go-ahead to the vaccine. "Now we're finding that now, yea, something was up with that issue. It was an illustration or bit of evidence of some crony capitalism."

Horse puckey. You've shown a report and claim that everyone was on Perry's side when evidence shows that the legislature overrode his executive order and sent his brilliant idea packing.
Perry admits using an executive order was a mistake, not the public policy.
Not before he used Obama-like demagoguery against those who were voting to override him, calling them “shameful” spreaders of “misinformation” who were putting “women’s lives” at risk. Some admission of a mistake there.
The Texas legislature was offended he took this action without their explicit authorization and questioned his authority. I learned today the medical community was upset his opt-out was not required to renewable yearly, a policy goal they had in 2007, but one-and-done. Add in push back from the kooky anti-vax community and those who think this vaccine is a comment on their daughter's morals and you get perfect storm.
Those mean legislators and those horrible Texans! How could they go against our sainted Rick???!?!!
Perry was widely praised for taking this action by the NY Times and others in the press.
Yeah, when a Republican acts like Obama, the NYT is going to praise him. No surprise there.

Never mind that the national debt is about $14 trillion, the annual deficit is $1.75 trillion, the jobless rate is 9-plus-percent, and the nation of 330 million residents produced ZERO net jobs in August, thanks to the policies of President Obama.

I look at the history. In 2005, two years earlier, the legislature made eliminating cervical cancer a goal by 2015. It directed the state health dept. to produce a report by the end of 2006. The small contribution came in October. He was reelected in November. That report, delivered in December, concluded Armed with this new HPV vaccine, we can achieve the moment when we know our goal — eliminating cervical cancer death and suffering — is in reach. Perry signed the order in 2007 and the media praised him for it.
It was in the works for years in the public eye, the study recommending widespread Gardasil vaccination involved dozens of health professionals including people from Merck's direct competitor Glaxo-Smith-Kline, National Cancer Institute, academia and elsewhere. This was not done in a vacuum nor in secret.
His order was consistent with the recommendations of and concerns in the report and he protected parental rights. It was careful and pragmatic. He made a mistake of procedure. He's said so repeatedly.
If he were corrupt would he have stuck his neck out so blatantly for so little? It doesn't make sense.
I think very little of those trying to spin this up into a giant conspiracy or outright lying about the facts using the language of the abortion lobby, saying he took away "choice," as Michele Bachmann did. It's sick and speaks volumes on how they'd be in the Oval Office.
On Hannity, Ann Coulter says Romney will be the eventual nominee.
