Libya's new 'leader' says Sharia law will be used as basis to guide country after fall ...

Libya's interim leader has said Sharia law will be used as the basis for new legislation as the country removes all traces of the Gaddafi regime.

Mustafa Abdel Jalil, making his first public speech in Tripoli in front of 10,000 people, warned against reprisals by rebel forces against elements of the Gaddafi regime.

And he said that 'extremist ideology' would not be tolerated under the new regime.

The National Transitional Council chairman said: 'We seek a state of law, prosperity and one where sharia is the main source for legislation, and this requires many things and conditions.'

Pro-Gaddafi fighters yesterday killed 15 guards at an oil refinery in an attempt to disrupt the NTC's bid to revive the oil-based Libyan economy.

And a Syrian-based television station claimed it had received a new message from the fugitive Libyan leader, who has issued regular battle calls to his followers in the three weeks since Tripoli was overrun.

It quoted Colonel Gaddafi, who it said was still in Libya, as saying: 'We cannot give up Libya to colonisation one more time... there is nothing more to do except fight till victory.'

And he [Mustafa Abdel Jalil] said that 'extremist ideology' would not be tolerated under the new regime.

AFAIK, there is no ideology more extreme than Sharia law.

Libya will turn islamist in due time (thanks to help from us) and the same thing may happen in Syria as well.

As detestable as Gaddafi and Assad are, they’re choirboys compared to the islamist savages who will take their place.

I have been warning about the rise of the Nation of Islam, for a long time. I no longer see away of stopping it, Europe is going to have a real war on it’s hands soon. Russia has out smarted itself, again.

I think a reasonable person could conclude Glen Beck is unstable and maybe even crazy. That does not mean that his world view is largely incorrect. Crazy and wrong are not the same thing :)

Great. How many billions did it cost us to put our mortal enemies in power in Libya?

The way I see it, is that Islam is going to be Europes’ problem. We are broke and retreating. Europe is going to have to step up and that includes Russia or Islam will once again try to take Europe and this time they might just do it. India will be in play too and united Nation of Islam is a real threat to India too.

It is hard to believe the Russians are so stupid as to be still fighting the cold war then Radical Islam is rising right in their back yard. I sure would like to know just that the hell Russia is thinking?

And ?

This is what the Iraqi government said too. They both were Muslim countries before the fall of Saddam and Ghadaffi. Do people think that kicking out a dictator knocks the Muslim out of you ?

I think it probably doesn’t. Doesn’t mean they are going to turn into the next Iran.
