I saw the GOP debate and the Greta interview with Palin and Bachman. I am absolutely against Perry's mandate of the Gardasil vaccine. On policy grounds. Period.
But, to see the two ladies pile on with corruption charges against Perry was truly disgusting. If they have any proof that Perry mandated the vaccine to profit Merck, I am the first one who wants it. And, if proof emerges that he did so, I will be the first one to revoke my support for him.
It happens in the industry all the time. Acquaintances get you an audience. So, in this case, the fact that Perry's previous staffer was a lobbyist must have gotten the meeting. A meeting to hear about this wonderous cancer curing drug. Nothing corrupt about it. Is there more to the reason Perry made such a call? Possible/Probable. Evidence of it? None so far.
Come on. Do Palin and Bachman have to resort to gutter politics to get themselves better positioned?
Yeah he establishes that he can be bought...all that's left is to haggle price...
Did she mention Perry specifically by name regarding the crony capitalism?
Yes. Absolutely and positively she mentioned Perry by name with crony capitalism in this instance.
Sorry... looks like I messed up my post trying to get the link to work.... hopefully you can just copy and paste it to see the interview.
I don’t like the way Perry did any of this. Mandates are BS. I just see the “no vaccines” crowd showing up on this argument. I have no interest in that. I also don’t see the corruption here with Merck and Perry. Just a mindset from Perry on heavy handed Gov’t. That is where the issue is with Perry on this. Not vaccines.
Then what is your explanation for him doing so that is compatible with him being president?
He was stupid? He was careless? He doesn't care about our children? He was completely uninformed, yet pushed it anyway? He knows better what is good for your children than you do?
I don't know if it is corruption, but it STINKS to high heaven.
I agree that on this issue that's what bothers me...
Yes, with a double digit lead, he’s clearly done.
Disturbing
UBetcha! And so was Bachman. Perry’s answer was pathetic, leaving the impression that he was no cheap date. It’s not the amount; it’s the perception and the c o n n e c t i o n! Santorum was equally correct on this issue: it’s not the procedure (executive order), stupid; it’s the policy! Let’s do another opt-out on a ridiculous policy rather than the far more parent-friendly opt-in.
Sorry but this whole issue finishes me for Perry. And a huge HURRAH for the three who called him on it.
OK...I think I get it now.
“Anybody who claimed Gov Palin was wrong on anything she said on Gretas show did not watch her interview. She was right on.”
Dang, that’s what I was thinking! Unfortunately, I read FR threads first, and THEN watched the interview. Don’t see what the problem is, looked like vintage, dead-on Sarah Palin to me.
The biggest weakness he has on this is that he did not go to the legislature and recommend that this be required; he issued an executive order.
If he thought it was such a good idea, and there was nothing unethical going on, why didn’t he use the normal law-making procedure?
“there is an opt out for that.”
Why don’t you people get that “opt out” means YES, or OK.
You should have to opt IN. Offer it, and let parents say yes if they want it. Otherwise, absolutely NOT.
If I had a dime for every time folks said Palin was history, I'd be rich. Frankly, these weekly “Palin’s toast” rants are just getting a wee bit old and tired.
So, on one hand Palin’s a joke that has no chance of being President; on the other hand she merits numerous threads chronicling her every word. You Betcha! ;-)
This cat Perry has more red flags in his past than obama had before he was elected. Ignoring them will get us more of the same. Pay to play and the U.S. for sale again. No way will I vote for him. If Sarah doesn’t run, I’m leaning heavy toward Newt. At least he is intelligent and has a sense of history.
I couldn’t agree with you more. It is a lapse in leadership and is one of the issues I have with Perry. I’m not writting him off though. Mittens is still in there and he needs to go.
Golly. Too bad you weren't around to advise Reagan to throw his hat in the ring earlier - he didn't declare until mid-November. No wonder he lost.
Oh wait...
Just like the chaste children of Alaska, I guess
None forthcoming, you are just being a true Perry supporter. Nuff Said.
