Now Bush certainly had his fair share of flaws when it came to adherence to Conservative principles. But his nominations to the Supreme Court (Roberts and Alito) weren't one of them.

Take a look at Romney's record of appointing judges in Massachusetts. To excerpt an article from the Boston Globe:

"Governor Mitt Romney, who touts his conservative credentials to out-of-state Republicans, has passed over GOP lawyers for three-quarters (75%) of the 36 judicial vacancies he has faced, instead tapping registered Democrats or independents – including two gay lawyers who have supported expanded same-sex rights."

What does that tell you?

That the guy is a political opportunist taking the path of least resistance in a state where he, as a "Republican", shouldn't even be holding office.

Which actually serves to give me confidence that as President he would appoint Conservative judges. It's just political reality. In MA he couldn't afford to tick off Democrats. As President he wouldn't be able to afford ticking off Conservatives.
