Glenn Beck’s web network: bigger than Oprah?

Glenn Becks new show launches today on his web network, GBTV, and the Wall Street Journal finds signs that this model holds promise. For one thing, Beck already has more paying subscribers than Oprah Winfreys OWN cable network did in June.
Because Mr. Beck owns the show and the network, he could make substantially more than the $2.5 million salary he got each year at Fox. GBTV is on track to take in more than $20 million in revenue in its debut year, according to a person close to the company. The television industry will be watching closely to see whether the TV host can preserve his popularity while migrating to the Web, where efforts to get consumers to pay to watch online-only channels are just beginning.
When Mr. Beck announced GBTV in June, the network had 80,000 subscribers. In the months since, GBTV subscribers have swelled to more than 230,000, according to people close to the network, even though Mr. Beck's show hasn't yet begun.

Beck may fill the niche we thought Fox News would fill fifteen years ago.
Did any cable or network show these past four days identify our attackers as muzzies? Beck did. He will make a fortune.

I know he was calling the arab spring a radical islamist movement months before it even started. One of his guests even called out FOX for being in bed with the muslim brotherhood.

Crap. Too much TV stuff tonight.
I think baseball is going to win this round. The Tigers are on a roll like we haven’t seen since 1984.

Quite right. He will fill the void left by the dino media regarding the Middle East. Standby by for gross film clips of what palis have done.
I wouldn't be surprised if he picks up a hundred thousand more paid subscribers this month alone. He talking about Woodrow Wilson now, not one of his favorite Presidents.
