I don’t think it was to butter her up to get her support or endorsement or for any political reason. It was more just him being a nice guy. They used to be colleagues at FOX. She’s mentioned him in a few speeches and books, saying nice things about him. So when Greta mentions that she was on before he figured he’d throw her a solid. Not for any political benefit but just to come across well. And, if a bunch of people who like her and had just tuned in to see her were able to see him praise her, all the better.

Her accusation of Perrys crony capitalism is based on nothing.
Are you telling me she took NO corporate contributions?

Possibly, but right now she is a Fox commentator, so she should be more balanced

IMHO, Perry had a great first hour. And you’re right, he does not do well on defense. The frontrunner has to expect this and be prepared.

I apologize, in the heat and speed of the thread, I meant it for the poster before you (who was dissing the Hermanator) which I did not take too kindly too. This man is a solid conservative, a likeable guy, comes off as reachable and in command, and I can see him as commander in chief assembling a LOT of smart people around him to help in in his early days and years in the West Wing.

PRESIDENT HERMAN CAIN.

The TX Dream Act only gives tuition to someone who graduated from a TX high school and has been here for 3 years. IOW, kids who were brought here by their parents at no fault of their own. Perry wasn’t clear enough on that.

Do you remember what his catch phrase was on this issue -- he used it repeatedly. What do you think of it?

Excellent!!!

Also he was offended that anybody would think he could be bought for as little as 5 grand...

Makes me think of the Gov of Illinois...Rod or Rob...names slips my mind this moment, the guy that tried to sell Obama`s senate seat..

Ya Perry may have shown us more than he wanted with that comment..I am, offended that you think I could be bought for a mere 5 grand...very telling, maybe 50 grand he would not have been so offended.

And like you say, favors later, or as they say in sports...future considerations

Perry didn’t skirt the issue...and thanks to Michelle they are playing her attack —shrillness and all—over and over on CNN.

she broke the Reagen rule...and wasn’t necessary after she made her initial point. she so lost it completely with me on that.

As I recall it, the vaccine was already being administered, but it is very expensive. By mandating it, it reduced the cost to a minimum. It caused some bad effects in some - as almost all vaccines do - so it created an uproar and was dropped. The parents were allowed to sign papers to opt out of it if they didn’t want their daughter to get it.

I have always liked you and your posts on FR. So it is with a bit of hesitation I have to disagree with you on the real issue over this whole topic.

A mandate is a tax. Tea Party is about opposing mandates/taxes without representation. The drug company did NOT absorb the cost, the tax payers did/do, regardless IF they have a daughter opting in or out.

Sarah goes after Perry in emails and not Romney? Sounds like some jealousy going on there.

Now we know why some here act the way they do over Perry.

Perry was not alone on supporting in-state college tuition for illegals. The entire legislators in Texas supported it with only 4 dissenting votes. I will defer to their judgement over mine since they know the issue far more than me.

Personally if I was the gov, I would have vetoed it every time. So I am giving lower grade on the immigration issue, also because he is against building a physical wall barrier.

On Garadasil issue, as responsible parents we opted to have our daughters vaccinated. Cervical cancer is far worse than any other possibility. But Perry admitted he should have done it through legislation instead of executive order. So this issue is a non-issue to me.

Perry had the HO((NESTY to admit he made a mistake! GEEZUZ!!!!!!!!!! COnservatives USED to forgive,........

That's the way I feel about it too. The man admitted making a mistake, the minute Texans said back off, he backed off. Beating a dead horse only makes others come to his side.

I love Sarah, but she campaigned for McCain and helped to destroy the life of a good conservative along the way. I've forgiven her for that even though she's never admitted to making a mistake.

Leave Ann Romney alone. She is a wonderful person and would make a wonderful First Lady.

Your gratutious remark was an affront to good taste.
