Turkish warships will escort any Turkish aid vessels to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said in remarks broadcast on Al Jazeera television on Thursday.
Erdogan also said that Turkey had taken steps to stop Israel from unilaterally exploiting natural resources from the eastern Mediterranean, according to Al Jazeera's Arabic translation of excerpts of the interview, which was conducted in Turkish.

“The Turks haven’t had a serious fight that they’ve been in for quite some time, whereas the Israelis are constantly either fighting or training to fight (and always applying lessons from the prior fights to improve themselves). The IAF, in particular, would make utter mincemeat of the Turk Navy, and would likely shoot down a lot of the Turkish air forces that got involved. Just ask the Russian pilots from 1967, 1973 and 1982 over Lebanon - they got shot down just like the Arabs that they were pretending to be.
Remember also that the Turks aren’t fighting for survival, the Israelis always are doing so. Further, the Israelis will have lots shorter lines of communication, and their air force will have far longer loiter times than the Turks.
If the Turks really decide that they want to fight Israel, then they had better be ready for what Israel will do to them - Israel isn’t going to sit by passively while it is attacked, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see massive destruction at Turkish naval and air bases near the Med.
As one American officer said during the first Gulf War, “I’d advise any nation in this area not to f$%k with the Jews.”
Israel had a very tough time with just the Lebanese Army together with Hizbolla a few years back. Don’t underestimate the Turks.
Peace flotilla will be collateral damage.
If Israel and Turkey got into a hot war, surely the other arabs in the neighborhood would seize the opportunity to try and destroy Israel. It would be Israels most serious threat to date. I think though, Turkey is just bluffing to look good to the neighborhood muslims. They want to be perceived as top dog over Iran, and threatening Israel sadly wins hearts and minds.
That would be a game changer.
Libya and Sudan don’t count for much. Don’t think much of Iran, except for their nuclear potential, either.
But giving Turkish aircraft basing rights in Syria or Egypt would get them much closer to the action and the dogpile of Turkish, Syrian and Egyptian air forces would be nightmare for the Israelis.
The Egyptians can throw in 240 more F-16s and some Phantoms, Mirages, and MiG-21s. The Syrians are less capable with MiG-29s, MiG-25s and MiG-23s, and MiG-21s. They Syrians also have some Fencers and Fitters.

I agree that Libya and Sudan wouldn’t count for much, beyond suicide bomber pools, but like you said I think that Egypt and Syria are the real problems here due to their proximity. Iran, while on the other side of the Middle East, is going to have nukes soon if they don’t already and I’ll bet dollars to donuts that if this heats up, those nukes get shipped to Turkey or Syria for launch against Israel. The closer they are to their target, the less time Israel has to react, which is never a good thing.
I’m not sure we’ll see Iranian nuclear weapons in the immediate future. It is a surprisingly long step from having a nuclear bomb to having a deliverable nuclear warhead. Having a Paki bomb show up is more likely.
I know that this is an old saying but it's a complete fallacy and utterly unscriptural. If this is the war that results in the destruction of Damascus as outlined in Isaiah 17, then there's going to be a massive amount of casualties on both sides. Those casualties on the Israeli side are going to result in this attitude being reexamined and discarded by the Jewish survivors, as illustrated in verses 7 & 8 of Isaiah 17.

I know you meant well, but the way we think about things is about to radically change in this world.
That's a good possibility, but who's to say that Iran isn't using a Paki bomb to guide them in how to build their own? I'd be highly surprised to learn that this isn't the case. Either way, I'd say that unconventional warfare of all kinds is definitely on the table if this one goes hot.

Zech 14 is not a neutron bomb or any other kind of human weapon. If you carefully read the text, you soon realize that this is a description of direct action on the part of God Himself. Zech 14 is describing the aftermath of Christ’s return to Earth. This is what is waiting for those who refuse to accept Christ.
Different situation. In Lebanon Israel had to deal with lots of civilians, and wanted very much to appear as the good guys. Against Turkey, the fight will occur in the air and on the sea - no civilians to speak of. Further, all Hezbollah could do was send a bunch of rockets into northern Israel - a big PITA, to be sure, but not threatening to Israel's existence. Warships from a substantial nation interfering in a local matter would be quite different - and I don't see Israel holding back.
The Turks were very formidable on the ground in Korea, and likely would be today. However, Israel's bread and butter is its air force. That is the force that would be used, not the Israeli army vs. the Turkish army. I don't underestimate Turkey, but neither should anyone underestimate the IAF defending its own territory.
