I guess that makes me a Scientologist, because Ive posted repeatedly that Palin holds a special position because there is no one not even George W. Bush who has been the subject of the Democratic, mainstream media and left-blogosphere smear machine to the extent Palin has.
So yes, I do take it personally when conservatives lash out at Palin not because of her policy positions or what shes done or not done in her career, but with personal invective.
Its not religion, its a cold hard understanding of what is to come, and how those who call Palin a diva or a tease or any of the other names coming from media conservatives do damage to us all. Palin is simply the test case for how the Republican nominee, whoever that person may be, will be treated, and we pile on her at our own peril.
**snip**
Simply by waiting to announce, Palin has driven media conservatives mad. It all seems so familiar.

Bingo! Even Pawlenty (who was the first major figure in) chastise Palin for not getting in the race if she was really serious about running and we see that Pawlenty was the first major figure to get out of the race after burning all of that money on the so called “best” team in place. Sarah is also about to get in where the rule of “there’s only room for one female conservative” Bachmann might leave the race soon as well!
But why? Is it that adding months to a campaign is helpful? She's keeping her options (and our options) open. That's a good thing. Important difficult decisions should never be made prematurely. Up to this point there has been no good reason for her to declare.
It's good that Perry got in, because now we can begin the process of figuring out who he is, (us non-Texans know almost nothing about him), and the colonoscopy takes time. Rick Perry could be wonderful, he could be horrible, we'll find out in time. I'm looking forward to tonight because it will be the very first time I hear the man speak in his own words (not a news snippit likely taken out of context). Perry had to get in to start to build name recognition, but why do you need to know more about Sarah? If you're worried about internecine warfare among the conservatives, believe me nothing will compare to the onslaught of pure hate the dems and the MSM are going to throw at Perry, or any of them. Sarah's already passed that test.
Because she doesn't want to blow through a lot of money like Bachmann did when she doesn't have to. She also doesn't want to trigger the cumbersome and legally dangerous FEC laws that go into effect as soon as she declares.
Is that simple enough for you?
Yes... I was there too.
But at least we had the balls to ask.
Just go over to that site and type “Palin”. The articles are all in support of her. I can’t remember reading a piece critical of her until this one.
I guess you weren't paying attention or you just like to complain. She stated way before the speech(or at least her spokespeople did)that she would NOT be announcing at that speech. She has to the end of this month to announce after that she will not be able to meet the deadline for the earliest primary. Therefore we will know at the end of the month one way or another.
Just because she doesn't play the game the way YOU(and other numerous idiots)want her too doesn't mean she is being coy. She has good reasons for waiting. RR waited much longer to announce, as have other candidates in the past. If she announced early she would have to spend her hard won campaign funds and perhaps run out too soon. That's one legit reason for holding off. Another reason(legit)is because she simply doesn't want to frickin' announce yet.
Get your pacifier and quit crying you will feel better in the morning.
Never mind that once she enters, NONE of her rivals will get vetted.
ALL the attention will go to taking her OUT!
And let’s not forget that peeping Joe McGuniness’s book is scheduled to hot the stores *soon*.
Really? According to whom? The same people who keep telling us that she's unelectable and not going to run? The ones who insist that she's going to support Perry on such-and-such date?
And, as usual, their predictions were wrong. Why do you keep listening to them? If it doesn't come from Palin herself or SarahPAC, any such "supposing" is just somebody's uninformed guess. And that's true whether it's from a supporter or a critic.
I had my own predictions, of course, that turned out not to be true, so I'm a prime example of someone you shouldn't listen to on the subject. ;) (That's not to say that I didn't have solid and logical reasons for my guesses, but in the end, I'm no more privvy to Palin's plans than Karl Rove, Erik Erikson, Ann Coulter, et. al.)
Predictions aside, Palin has said that she will announce her intentions most likely sometime this month, or early October at the latest. That's straight from her own mouth. What's the harm in waiting for her to act on her own schedule? The results will speak for themselves, one way or another, and all of these predictions, poll-gazing, and "conventional wisdom" won't matter one whit in the grand scheme of things, except to those who like to play the "I told you so" game.

The Palin Uncertainty - How late is too late? (by John Hayward)
Excerpt:
“If Palin is a good presidential candidate, then formally entering the race and taking the stage at debates will move the polls in her direction. Her official presence would expose her to a wider audience, especially as the election draws closer. For good or ill, her public statements and campaign positions would become more important than the mythology surrounding her.”
“Look at her response to James Hoffas vile remarks on Labor Day, and Barack Obamas agreeable silence afterward. She didnt just run to a camera and express her outrage. She wrote a very detailed, thoughtful response, as constructive as it was fiery, and posted it in the wee hours of the morning. Did you see anything like that from the declared GOP presidential candidates? Why not?”
As a Southern California football fan, I can assure you that Rome calling Everett that was an insult...to Chris Evert, not Jim Everett.
Do you really want to go there?
Because as soon as she announces, she in for the Sh*t storm of all storms.
If she waits to see when the Caucuses and first primaries are really scheduled, then wait for her to try to sprint to the end so that “they” don’t have the opportunity to drive her into the ground.
That is the only reason why I would think she could wait.
The whole garbage about Reagan waiting does not hold water now. The calendar is very different this time around.
They don't want an answer, they only use that as an excuse to bash Palin. Once she announces, they'll find something else to complain about.
Sarah Palin and her supporters have taken enough crap from the leftist media, Democrats AND the frickin' Establishment GOP over the last few years. She doesn't need the same treatment here. Unless, of course, her bashers here ARE members of GOP Establishment Corrupt Bastards Club.
I don’t necessarily take time to keep up with red state, but from what I HAVE seen, erick erickson has never been a Palin supporter, so for him to be whining about her is just sheer hypocrisy. What difference does what SHE does make to him?
As for ann coulter and laura ingraham, they were sneering, catty, and they didn’t bother to hide it. There was no “analysis” from either one, just a couple of snarky verbal slaps from two gossipy women...one who backs romney and the other who backs muz christie. I mean, really?
FWIW, I agree with that writer.
I want to to participate in the debates, but I am will to wait for her announcement.
I remember when Chrissy went down in the pocket...when NOBODY touched him. Rome never forgot that...and neither did I.
Oh excellent! It doesn’t map Scientology perfectly, but it’s pretty darned close.
I’m going to have to check out the referenced book. Thanks!
Re-read the Erickson piece.
The op-ed is about how Palin supporters react, no about Governor Palin:
“To not bow at the throne of Sarah you get disowned. You get attacked. You have people drum up stories attacking your credibility. Oh, Perry announced at his event, he must be bought and paid for, etc. Ironically, some of the very people going after this sites and my credibility claiming were pressured to do things by higher ups at Eagle Publishing are people who were on payrolls advocating for clients while refusing to disclose potential conflicts among other things. To add comedy to irony, it seems more and more apparent that some of those who attacked this site and me for holding editorial positions based on what our corporate parent dictates (a lie designed to undermine our lack of sufficiently pro Palin bona fides among other things) are themselves engaging in projection because it is they, not RedState nor me, who must tread carefully in who they attack because their livelihoods depend on it. Its always the kooks who project their sins on others.”
I'll take two of whatever you are having...
:)
